Just a hidden jem in the heart of manhattan. Great personnel, location is prime. Room was small, but it was more than enough. It was clean, without any “hotel” smells you can feel at some hotels. I have already recommended this place to my friends who travel to NYC, and would come back here again myself. If you need just a good, convenient and basic place to stay while you explore the city or running your errands, look no further.

Our family of four (parents and 2 teenage boys) was very comfortable in the larger room with 2 sets of bunk beds. Artel was by far the most affordable option for our family to stay in NYC. Customer service was awesome! We arrived early and stored our luggage until check-in. Also, don't forget to request a fridge if needed!

Hotel is a great location for our needs. Staff fairly friendly and room was clean. The carpet had been pulled up in the rooms and hallways, so we had a concrete floor. I am sure it will look much better after new flooring. Room was very tiny and we did not have a closet or any drawer space, but we made it work.

Very modest Hotel, not visually pleasant, it was very disappointed, was expecting something more artsy ( everything was far from anything artistic). There was no air conditioner in the room, fortunately the weather was pleasant. The "staff " was nice.

Very unique property in a great location. Good value for the price. Just some of the design decisions didn't suit me. I didn't like the concrete floors and there just wasn't enough lighting in the room. However, I did like the bunk beds, that was a nice feature. And the bathroom was very nice with immediate hot water.

We found mice in the room, going into our bags. The hotel was able to change the room. Luckily during the busy season, they had a room availability. The hotel lobby had a peculiar smell and looked old and dirty. After checking in and looking at the bed, I thought it did not look clean enough.

You idiots cancelled my booking TWO DAYS before i landed and you still haven't refunded me. Worst travel company ever. Worst hotel ever. Refund my money and stop sending me these ridiculous requests to rate my stay at a property that YOU CANCELLED!!!

Shower didn't work, daughter had to use a plastic cup to shower with. Vibrating pipework kept us up all the night. Worse hotel I have used for a considerable amount of time.

I really liked that the property was within walking distance of several popular locations including Time Square and Rockerfeller Plaza. There are excellent food options just across the street from this hotel as well as a 7 Eleven and a drug store. It is a 7 minute walk to Penn Station. The front desk staff was pleasant. It was one of few hotels that had 2 queen size beds in the area for a reasonable price. The rooms are small but not unusual for a NYC hotel. There aren't many amenities at the hotel, but you are so close to everything it doesn't even matter. You can store your luggage at this hotel and they have a great check out time. I have no complaints. If I were to do another long weekend in NYC, I would definitely stay here again.

The lighting is very poor. The safe was sitting on the floor and was not secured to the wall and moved when you used it. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed ever.

1. Our room had an unfinished concrete floor that looked like it was waiting for carpeting to be installed. 2. The bedroom was so small that you had to climb out the bottom of the bed to get out of it, there was no room on the sides. 3. The front desk staff were very unfriendly on check-in and check-out.
