Secluded Mountain Home Nestled in a Private River Community, Wi-Fi, Fire Pit,

"This little cabin was perfect for our family needs, spacious enough we could have our own area but comfortable for sitting together and watching tv and spending time together. Thankful there was not a tv in every room!!! and plenty of outdoor space to enjoy creation. The tubes and kayaks provided were very enjoyable to get on the river for hours and fish. The outside shower was perfect for boys. The house was very clean and well stocked with basics and the communication of the owner was great. Checked in on us a couple times to make sure our stay was pleasant. The fire pit was a favorite and got to watch a deer eat and didnt mind to be around people. My favorite spot was the rocking chairs on the porch and played multiple games of checkers and corn hole. Just a perfect getaway weekend to spend a random mini family vacation together at a last minute planning. Thankful this place was available. My children asked of we could book this cabin again. and of coarse we would love too. Thanks for opening your home for visits.we also enjoyed the recommendation to hike at a state park and really enjoyed that. The drive to and from was beautiful and the park itself was great to enjoy hiking and a waterfall. Totally worth the 30 minute drive to get to the state park."

"Very quite escape. Close to nature activities and not too far to Jefferson. Owner should be made aware there are a family of five groundhogs living under the house. I hate to see them exterminated, maybe they could be relocated elsewhere on the property."

"Everything as advertised. The home interior was well maintained, clean, everything functional, and well stocked. Only 2 humans on this trip but the place is plenty big enough for a family of 4 and a dog. The outdoor space provided the real "wow". The porch, grill, fire pit, and amazing hot tub were all ideal. And the view... the view down into the river valley and across the rolling mountains was just beyond words. A cabin. Thanks for having us!"

"The property was beautiful, clean, and we were pleasantly surprised by how stocked the kitchen was in regards to cooking supplies!! We love to cook, so we were happy to have a wide array of tools at our disposal. We enjoyed coffee on the large covered porch overlooking a quaint, forested yard. The property was everything we wanted from our rental. We were easily able to get up and down the driveway without 4wd even after heavy rains, and there was a food lion within 15 minutes of us, so we got to enjoy isolation while still having access to a nearby town without it being a major inconvenience.There were heavy unexpected rains, which interfered with the running water for the property. The owner of the property was quick to respond, deeply apologetic, and frantically worked to get the issue resolved. The company that runs the vrbo account, or whoever is in charge of handling the messages on vrbo was snippy and dismissive. We reached out a little bit before 5pm when we lost our running water. Despite us responding quickly and asking questions in hopes of resolving the issue ourselves, the person responding vanished after 5pm-- mid-conversation-- as it seems clocking out was more important than us being able to flush the toilets, shower, or wash our hands. After going back and forth with this person all day on our anniversary, they finally gave us the number to the actual property owner, who was a very kind breath of fresh air and was able to immediately resolve our issues."

"It is a beautiful cabin with a perfect river view. It is pretty clean with the exception of the oven and grills. It wasn't advertised to have seating by the firepit or access to the river and so I was disappointed because I assumed there would be both. I just want others to be aware in case that is something you would like. The A/C is cold. The heat is hot. The showers have great pressure and there are lots of ceiling fans which I love. Also not advertised is a coffee maker but there is a Keurig with lots of coffee pods and creamer. much appreciated! It's a very quiet area and the river winding along the road is gorgeous!"

"Excellent!! This was our second year in a row staying at Mountain Lair. Group of six buddy's from high-school from 30 years ago. Secluded, convenient to the river and all the amenities we needed for a long weekend. Will be coming back next year...."

"Very cute little place. Very remote. River was peaceful and relaxing. Beds very comfortable and cozy. Hot water was quick. Stairs up were a bit steep for me. I’m 77 with 2 replaced knees. Washer and dryer a bonus. No disposal. Front porch swing was a big bonus. Lots of games to play. Host was very responsive. Even enjoyed a nice long chat with the neighbor !! "
