Private Waterfront Home w/ Private Backyard

Just outside of the hustle and bustle of The French Quarter, Mid-City, and Downtown New Orleans, there is a waterfront getaway on the Chef Menteur Pass waiting to elevate your travel experience. Soak in this cozy and updated home with modern amenities, supreme comfort, and so much more.

Less than a 30 minute drive from Metro New Orleans, take in the waterfront view of Chef Menteur Pass from your scenic overlook. Once inside, you'll be greeted by warm natural light, high ceilings and hardwood floors. The open concept floor plan is the perfect setting for entertaining and gathering your friends and family. All the comforts of home are here, with special amenities including flat screen TV's in every room, Hi-Speed WiFi, on-site washer/dryer, private backyard, and less than 1 mile from the boat loading dock. We don't advise swimming in the pass, as the waves can be overpowering due to the boat activity.

Our bright and open space is the perfect setting for a mid-sized group or families looking to gather and create memories together! This 4 bedroom home can sleep up to 8 guests and the bedroom configurations are as follows:
Bedroom 1: 1 King Bed
Bedroom 2: 1 Queen Bed
Bedroom 3: 3 Queen Beds
Bedroom 4: 1 Queen Bed
Common Area: 1 Sleeper Sofa, 2 Full Baths; 1 separate tub and shower, 1 shower and tub combo

The pier was completely rebuilt in the summer of 2024, and is available for guest use. It includes a gazebo with a built-in seating, as well as an uncovered fishing platform. There are two crab baskets that guests can use. Use of the pier is at your own risk and should be used for seating, relaxing, and crabbing/fishing only. Swimming is not recommended in this area due to storm debris in the water and strong waves & currents.

The home is professionally cleaned prior to every stay and stocked with kitchen essentials, bathroom toiletries, linens and towels for your group.

Upon acceptance of your reservation, you will receive a welcome letter containing all of the information you need to access the home and ensure your stay is a memorable one! If you have any additional questions, we are available at any time to assist.

Important things to note: Though you have full access to the dock, we do not advise swimming, as the waves are strong in this area. Please read through House Rules for more information regarding safety and liability.

We recommend bringing a car, as Ubers and Lyfts may not always be available

Please note - life jackets are mandatory for fishing, boating, or any water related activities. We have a variety of fishing poles, but if you are enthusiast, you may want to bring your own. Our waters have drum, redfish, trout, flounder, catfish, and more! We can recommend a company for boat chartering if needed, and provide marina info for boat launch. Please reach out with any questions!

**There is a $200 security/damage deposit collected 3 days prior to arrival, and returned shortly after your stay. This is done as a $200 hold on your method of payment, not a full charge. Please see the rental agreement (required to be read and signed before booking) for more details. ***
Additional rules

1. The booking guest must have their ID uploaded to their airbnb profile.

2. While early check-in / late checkout may be available, this must be arranged ahead of time for an extra fee. Unauthorized Late checkouts are a $50 charge for each hour after 11am - a 15 minute grace period is given.

3.Clean towels are a provided amenity. We are typically unable to fulfill requests for additional towels during the duration of your stay. Plan ahead while packing, please bring extra towels if you or any of your guests anticipate needing more. There is also a washer and dryer in the unit that you can use if you need a refresh of towels during your stay.

3. Smoking & vaping in the unit will result in a $500 deodorization fee. Please smoke outside of the property.

5. Unregistered guests and parties are prohibited by local laws and ILLEGAL. Our occupancy limits are set by local ordinance. Any guest found to have had a party or over-occupancy will be charged a $1,000 fee for non-compliance with local laws. Exterior cameras present at the property to verify these laws/house rules are not broken. As of May 2022, Airbnb has specifically banned parties from their units. Violation of this rule will result in a ban from Airbnb.

6. Please do not hang or attach anything to the walls with push pins, tape, etc. or other painted surfaces.

7. Please do not use face towels to remove makeup, it damages the towels.

8. If the space is left excessively dirty $50 will be charged for each additional hour of cleaning required. Removal of bodily fluids will result in a charge of $150. Glitter cleanup will result in a charge of $100.

9. After you’ve read these rules, please send me a message with the words “yellow kangaroo” it will let me know that you have read the rules thoroughly.

10. While we cannot receive any mail or packages to the space, we can possibly assist with getting packages shipped to New Orleans if needed.

14. Commercial video and photo shoots require prior and authorized consent. Associated day-rate fees, liability waivers and copyright contracts will apply if consent is given.

15. Message us for long term stays.

16. All of our TV's are streaming, we do not provide any account information, you will have to log into your own. Please remember to log out at check out. We do not have cable TV.

17. Should you wish to receive an early check-in or late check-out, please let us know the day before and we will determine if it's possible. We require time to prepare the unit for your stay or after your stay for the next guest and sometimes we are unable to accommodate. If we can accommodate, we will charge $25/hour for the additional booking time. This will also be in place for dropping luggage off or leaving your luggage after checkout time has passed. Payment will be requested through Airbnb after your additional time has been approved.

18. We do not recommend drinking any water out of the faucet here. We will provide a water cooler and fresh ice for your stay.

19. For the safety of you and your guests, swimming off of the dock is NOT ALLOWED. Water is deep, and the currents can be strong. Use of the pier/dock is at your own risk and we do not assume any liability for injuries that may occur as a result of its use.

20. A life jacket is required for any recreational water activities.

21. Fishing poles and two crab baskets are provided for use on the dock/pier. Please make sure poles are returned to where you found them and that the crab baskets are not left in the water and are placed back on the dock when not in use. Failure to do so can result in additional charges for damage or replacement.

22. Lost Items: We return lost items for a $75 flat fee.  This is to cover shipping costs, along with the time spent to retrieve & mail your item. If you leave anything at the unit, please let us know immediately.

Beautiful Views
When we arrived, we all were happy with how clean the property was. It was honestly even more pretty than the pictures posted. The kitchen was spacious and had all the equipment we needed. One of our favorite parts of the house was the lovely balcony overlooking the lake. It was such a beautiful view to look out at every morning. Communication was also excellent. Any questions we had were answered quickly. David was always friendly in his replies. We would highly recommend this home!
