Deer Hill Shelter is a backpackers shelter, and therefore FREE, unlike the other camp areas on Mt Greylock. It's only about a mile and half from the parking area nearest to Campground Trail. Deer Hill Trail itself branches off from Campground Trail to take you to the shelter. Map location is approximate since it doesn't show all the trails and the shelter is dwarfed by the surrounding forest. First come, first serve here ... and if you show up in the middle of the week in early summer, you might get it all to yourself like we did!

"House was clean and comfortably furnished. The kids enjoyed the arcade games and it was an overall good time. Only Issues were that the drive and walk ways were hidden in the snow and the house did not hold heat well "

"The pictures of this place do not even do it justice. It was breathtaking. We had so much fun exploring Bennington during the day and returning to Big Sky to relax and enjoy the beautiful property. The house had everything we needed and more; the beds were so comfortable, and we enjoyed our time together. We will be back soon!"

A bonus was the property connects to Bessie Woods and we were able to go for a hike on the trails without even having to leave the property. "I’ve stayed at this property several times including before it changed management. We have always enjoyed everything about it. My only strong suggestion is that there is better signage out by the highway. You do not see the hotel or the sign until you get very close to the turn and it is a very busy highway. Making a right hand turn is dangerous especially if you have not been there before."
