Escape to this private, charming, up north cabin overlooking 8th Crow Wing Lake

Enjoy this thoughtfully detailed lake cabin for your summer getaway. All the amenities of home but with the slowness and charm of the north.

Perched on the crest of a hill overlooking 8th Crow Wing Lake, the views are stunning, peaceful, and ideal for bird lovers to observe nature in action. With expansive windows in every room, you can enjoy the outdoors from the light filled comfort of indoors. Or sit on the large deck and take in the hum of motor boats, loon calls, and humming birds zooming by. You will feel refreshed as soon as you walk in the door of this well loved cabin.

The property has much to offer. With woods separating the cabin from neighbors, you will feel secluded and away from it all. A winding pebble path leads you down to the lake, where you'll find a large dock for swimming, fishing or just sitting with a cup of coffee or glass of wine. There is a public boat launch on the opposite side of the lake and guests are welcome to tie up to the dock. Back up on top of the hill, take advantage of the large fire pit and yard activities, like bag toss (games provided).

Bring your bikes and explore the Heartland trail. Our favorite tour is from Akley to Walker, it's a beautiful stretch of the trail and Walker has a downtown with lots of shops and parks that are fun to explore. Another great day trip is to start in Nevis, bike to Dorset for a treat at the Dorset House, famous for their ice cream sundays, then end back at the Iron Horse in Nevis for delicious BBQ dinner.

No matter what your pleasure, we think you'll have a great time getting to know the cabin and the area. We would love to share this special place with you.

We winterize our cabin, so it is available for booking May-October and closed November-April. The dock access is dependent on weather. It's usually in by the end of May depending on ice out, and taken out by October 1, so would not be accessible for early May or October renters.

The path to the lake is steep and may not be accessible to those with mobility limitations.

We rented the cabin for our annual ladies weekend. There was plenty of space for the four of us to relax, craft, watch movies, play card games, and cook meals together. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking and we enjoyed eating out on the deck every day. The bathroom is redone beautifully and has lots of shelf space and hooks for multiple people to keep things organized. The beds were comfortable and we liked having places to hang our clothes. We were there without kids, but being moms, we all loved the cute little additions for children from the adorable loft area to the Tripp Trapp high chair to the basket of coloring books and shelf of games. The outdoors is private and beautiful. We did some photos together with the mossy steps and the trees starting to show some fall colors. Thanks for the lovely stay!

Beautiful cabin

This cabin is well maintained and has everything you need for a perfect vacation. Kitchen is well equipped with everything youn need for meal prep. Very clean. Beautiful cabin and private. Love this property!

Lovely Cabin in Nevis

We had a wonderful Forth of July vacation here. The home was so comfortable and had such beautiful views from the deck. We enjoyed many evenings with our pups outside. This home is close to Dorset and Park Rapids for fun places to grab a bite. Thank you so much for your hospitality. We hope to come back again.

Didn’t want it to end!

Annual Summer Get-away

As always, the cabin was perfect for our summer family get-away. The cabin was clean inside and out, the hosts provided excellent instructions and local suggestions. Although the weather wasn't ideal, we were still able to enjoy sunsets on the dock and even did a little swimming. Thanks to the puzzles, books and games provided by the hosts, we had plenty to do inside as well. We are looking forward to going back again next year!

Another wonderful stay

This was our third year staying for a week. Never have had any issues with the property...always clean, neat and quiet! Great location with nearby bike trails and lots of small towns to visit. Looking forward to going back next year!

A True Vacation

We just loved our time at this cabin. So much so, we wanted to stay longer. Lots of windows to see the beauty of Autumn's colored leaves all around. We slept well on comfortable mattresses. It was fun cooking in the kitchen with its many utensils, pots, pans, spices etc. A true vacation!

Restful and spectacular view

The cabin is nestled in a forest of trees. We felt like we were in a magical tree house, high above the lake. Everything in the cabin met our needs. The large windows in all the rooms, the deck surrounding 3/4ths of the cabin allowed us to commune with nature all the time! The only drawback was the long and steep path to the lake. There were no handrails , so we were unable to access the lake. We are seniors, so needed to stay up at the cabin and just view the lake from a distance.

Cabin in the woods

We had a beautiful week at the cabin! Everything was clean and fresh upon arriving at the property! We were pleasantly surprised that the mosquitoes weren’t terrible this summer. We saw eagles, osprey and of course the loons!

Lovely Cabin

This cabin is beautiful and the most comfortable rental we have experienced. It was exceptionally clean and well organized. We really enjoyed the grill and kitchen, cooking all of our meals rather than going out. The deck and patio furniture were very appreciated. We loved the view and being in the trees. The sunsets were breathtaking! Loved the kayaks and games and foosball table! Streamed a movie in the evening from Netflix or Prime. Beds, linens and towels are high quality and very appreciated! Thank you for a lovely stay.

Amazing!

This was our 3rd time staying at the cabin and it was just amazing! We love the area and the cabin is perfect for our family and small dogs. We can’t wait to go back next year! The entire rental process was easy too, and the comfort and ease of the entire stay is great.

Fun times at beautiful cabin

Cabin is beautiful. Modern - yet feels like a cabin. Kitchen had everything we needed. Supplied information on how to use remotes along with fun things to do in the area. Lots of steps to the lake. The lake is clear - not muddy looking. Fun to kayak to the different lakes. If you like to fish - Lots of sunfish Beautiful sunsets

Quiet and relaxing

Excellent experience - we enjoyed the beautiful lake and tree views from the spacious deck and many windows. The lake is quiet with loon calls being the loudest activity, just the way we like it. The cabin is nicely designed and stocked with amenities. Very comfortable newer foam bed, which is rare! Stonework in shower, woodwork throughout, comfortable furniture, updated electronics with streaming services and newer appliances helped us enjoy our stay. Being it was MN in May, we had a few chilly days and nights and easily stayed warm with a touch of heat. A couple days were warmer with bright sun, and the cabin cooled off nicely with a few windows open. Great rec room downstairs with darts and games. We loved the fire pit, grill and just sitting on the dock. Wish the water had warmed up, as we would have enjoyed the kayaks, but it was a late spring. Maybe next time!

Quiet Lakehouse

We enjoyed the remoteness of this cabin from a big city or busy neighborhood. House was clean and offered a lot of activities to keep renters entertained. We took advantage of the two kayaks the most!

Beautiful lake view and charming decor

The most wonderful part of this cabin is the lovely view of the lake which is easily visible through spacious windows. The deck wraps around three sides of the cabin for further enjoyment of the lake and the wooded scenery. The clean and casual cabin decor has lots of charming details and innovative lighting. The bedrooms and bathroom have plenty of open shelving which is convenient for placement of guest belongings. Also enjoyable is ladder-accessible loft that overlooks the living room and kitchen.

Nevis hideaway

Fairly secluded hideaway that met all my needs. It was just a short getaway for me. My brother and his wife have a lake place only 5 5 miles away, so the location was perfect. There were plenty of things to keep me occupied during my short 4 day stay. I definitely plan to come back again.
