"Booked to stay here for 2 nights after reading the reviews and we are so glad we did. From the moment we checked in and being greeted in the lounge with a drink and then being escorted to our room was such a nice touch. The grounds are beautiful and we wished we could have just stayed here for the 2 days and relaxed but we had plans in Knysna and Plettenberg. We had dinner in Zinzi and thoroughly enjoyed it and the breakfast was very good. The best thing about Hunters is their staff though. I wish I had made a note of all the names but Golli who greeted us was so lovely as was Ace when we had drinks by the firepit. Our breakfast waitress was amazing too but I did not get her name. We will definitely be back as loved the place. "

"Wish we had been able to stay another night as we loved this place so much. It's in such a beautiful spot with spectacular views over the bay. Reception staff were all so friendly and welcoming and we had a fantastic dinner in the on-site restaurant that night with great customer service too. Worth noting, there is a fairly long and steep hill to the shops/cafes/restaurants in the town so if you had mobility issues that may be a problem (unless you were driving)."

"Needed a place to stay on our journey to Cape Town. Booked here and couldn't have been happier. Convenient location just off the N2 in quaint Storms River Village. Everyone qas super friendly and made us very welcome. Cosy room, quiet, and delicious breakfast. Storms River Village has lots of eating options. We went to Marilyn's where we enjoyed a scrumptious meal. All in all, a great one night stay!"

"Our stay at this hotel began promisingly with a comfortable room, friendly staff, and good food. However, this positive experience took a sharp turn when we returned to find our room door wide open, with all our valuables—electronics, passports, clothing—exposed to anyone who walked by. Given that our room was less than 10 feet from an occupied room and only 50 feet from a restaurant open to the public, this situation was both unsettling and unacceptable. I immediately went to the reception, where the initial response was that housekeeping must still be in the room. This wasn’t the case; the room was empty. Eventually, a manager arrived and explained that an unexpected electrical issue required workmen to access our room throughout the day. Despite having our contact information, the hotel had failed to notify us about this, leaving our belongings vulnerable and exposed. The manager assured us the room was supervised all day, yet we returned to find it entirely unsecured and unattended—a direct contradiction to their assurances. This incident highlighted a complete disregard for guest security. Although we received a half-hearted apology, it was clear that guest safety was not a priority. Had we not been checking out the next day, we would have left immediately. If you value the security of your belongings and peace of mind while traveling, I would strongly advise booking elsewhere."
