Black Bear Lodge Motel

Black Bear Lodge Motel

10/10 Excellent
"I really enjoyed my stay at Black Bear Lodge in Slade, Kentucky. The location was perfect—it's centrally located and made it easy to explore Red River Gorge, Natural Bridge State Resort Park, and the surrounding attractions. The room was simple but comfortable. I especially appreciated that they didn't skimp on the blankets, which made for a cozy night's sleep after a day of hiking. The only downside was that my room didn't have an iron or ironing board, so keep that in mind if you need one. Overall, if you're looking for a clean, affordable, and conveniently located place to stay while exploring the area, I'd happily stay at Black Bear Lodge again."

Smallwood - Central RRG Cabin with Hot Tub & WiFi

"Cleanest cabin I have ever stayed in. Enjoyed hanging out by the pond and the 3 TVs. Easy check-in. The driveway is very steep - we had no problem but could be sketchy if snowy/icy. Towels in upstairs bathroom, which we didn't find til last day. Is nice because there is a bathtub if you enjoy baths. Very clean hot tub. I highly recommend."

"The cabin was lovely. We will be returning for anniversaries to come. A wonderful slice of remote beauty. The complementary robes, bath bomb, and oatmeal soap were lovely touches to a romantic cabin. The place settings for two, two wine glasses, two cocktail glasses, really hit home this was a place for couples to simply be with one another. Our only surprise was that the cabin walls/roof seemed to creak intermediately throughout our stay without obvious reason."

"The property was great. The cabin is beautiful. Any questions I had was answered within minutes of texting them. The house went above and beyond in my opinion I stayed there once before a few years back and really enjoyed it and I enjoyed it this time and I’m hoping to get to come back this fall and do it again."

Cabin with a pool, hot tub, in Red River Gorge/Natural Bridge State Park area

10/10 Excellent
"The pool was perfect for cooling off in this July heat after a day of hiking. The hot tub was nice and hot - it did have a very musty smell, possibly due to age, but seemed clean. The kids loved the foosball table - parts of it were broken, but they still enjoyed using it. Cabin was very open and spacious and felt clean (no weird smells or anything). There were plenty of pillows and blankets and towels! There wasn’t a toaster, but we used the oven when needing that function. The location was great - very easy for our non-4-wheel-drive compact car to access. And easy drive Natural bridge and eating places. Nice big yard, very open. Back pool area felt very private, which was perfect. The back porch was our favorite spot to sit and enjoy relaxing. One or two more reclining lounge chairs around the pool would be nice, but we took turns using the one available. We had a great stay and plan to return!!"

"Sage Chalet is a beautiful and immaculately kept chalet located in a picturesque setting in a community of other charming cabins. The pictures don’t do it justice. The kitchen was well equipped along with extras. Coffee, sweeteners, snacks and toiletries were all available included with our rental. Furnishings were comfortable and cozy. Communication with our host was A. A few restaurants, general store and activities were all close by. We definitely plan to stay there again upon return to the area."
