"Gorgeous traditional Ryoken. Problem at check-in almost ruined it but we worked it out. You check in and receive a cotton kimono, toe socks and slippers. "The service was excellent, the room was spotless, the beds were comfortable and both breakfasts were delicious. At one point, we called for a taxi but it was running late. Someone from the front desk came down to the road to help us hail a different taxi to help us catch our train. I highly recommend and plan on staying here my next time in Kyoto. "

"This property does take some effort to get to. But the stay was pleasant. Buffet was delicious and onsen baths were amazing. The ryokan experience is very interesting and comfortable for us. Staff were very helpful. One thing to mention is it is not very tattoo-friendly. They politely ask you to cover tattoos in common areas, including restaurants."

"This is a traditional ryokan, and my second stay. First time was back in 2016 by myself. This time came here to stay with my wife. Bery friendly staff. I had a much better experience first time around, two ladies came and showed me how to change into a yukata and prepared my bed. Everything was more personal, this time they were a little busy. Too many guests. Still amazing experience. You can reserve the onsen for yourself privately. The dinner experience is a little expensive but worth it. "

Bathroom amenities very good and modern, typical small Japanese bath. Washing machine also available. Overall a decent standard for the price, thoroughly recommend."
