"Our stay at this location could not have been better! It was a 5 Star experience in all categories! We stayed in the suite with the open air onsen and it was amazing. The staff offered the best costumer service all throughout the hotel. The food was incredible for all meals, another 5 Stars! The owner of the establishment came and spoke with us on 2 separate occasions to make sure we were enjoying our stay. This place is a total gem if you are staying in the Nagano area. We will definitely be returning in the future!!! Domo arigato gozaimasu!!!"

"It was most relaxing place since I came to Japan in mid June. I love the tatami floors everywhere even the stairs. The shower and tub room is ceader with wooden tub, very relaxing. The breakfast were amazing. If the traveler is looking for Japanese inn, this is the place. "

"My family enjoyed our stay at Hotel Tsubakino. We had a traditional Japanese room with a mountain view. The sunset views from our room were very nice. We also enjoyed the private onsen both nights of our stay. The temperature of the water fluctuated so the second night it was really hot and we were unable to stay in the water long. We had both the Japanese breakfast and the western breakfast. The Japanese breakfast was very impressive and it was tasty - although a bit much for the morning for our kids. So we tried the western breakfast on our second morning. It was good too. Beds were comfortable and the service was attentive and helpful. We came for the snow monkey park and while the snow monkeys didn't show up on the day we were there, I'm still happy we visited this beautiful mountain town. Would also recommend Sushiya for dinner. "

"Close to the bullet train station so our trip in and out to see friends was so convenient. Getting to the hotel from the station was just steps away so we could put our things away and cleaned up before we met friends. Again on the way out the convenience to the bullet train was amazing. "

"Such a lovely Ryokan, the staff were all so kind and nice. Super friendly! Explained everything so well and offered pick up from a nearby train station and drop off at local monkey park. The baths were all so different and the vibes were really good. Would definitely go again! I'd recommend everyone to go if you want to stay in the area."

"A very comfortable stay for us on a road trip. The property is located in the mountains, about 30-45 minutes to the coastline where all the actions are. Rooms were very clean and spacious. We had rooms that overlook the ski lifts. We went during the quiet season so there was limited dining options. It is a huge property with lots of attractions and we could imagine the buzz in the peak seasons. There was no air-conditioning in the rooms during our stay but the staff brought in electric fans which did the job. A nice stay after all."

"Incredible service and an absolutely amazing hotel. The staff were amazingly attentive and helpful, provided transport for us to see the monkey park and get us back to town in time for our train back. The evening meal was absolutely incredible and such a lovely experience, and the Onsen was outstanding. We loved our stay and would definitely stay again with absolutely no hesitation."
