"My husband and I stayed in the pole house while visiting Maui. It is at the base of the road to Hana and near Haleakalā, both things we wanted to do while there. It is close to Pa’ia town for shopping and close to Mama’s fish house as well as other restaurants. The turtle beach Ho’okipa is also not far. If you surf, you will be close to some of the best surf spots on the island. The house is an open air house although you can close everything and use fans which is enough on this side of the island. Bugs were not an issue but we did sleep with the net around our bed just incase but honestly probably didn’t need it. There are geckos but they are afraid of you so you may see one on a window or one of the poles but they scurry off. We left fruit on the table and it was not an issue. There was just something about having those doors open with the breeze blowing in, I will miss it. John is such a hospitable owner and even cooked us dinner. There is a full kitchen, washer and dryer beneath the house, and an outdoor shower. The porch is a wrap around porch. There is also a grill although we did not use it. We are sad to leave. "

"Had a lovely stay here and would definitely stay here again. I enjoyed the peaceful and relaxing surroundings, windows open, gentle breeze blowing, it was perfect for just me. John is a wonderful and attentive host. He provided coffee, and even some fresh off the tree, apple bananas. I found the property description to be accurate, so as with all things, pay attention to the details and you won’t be disappointed. For example, it’s a kitchenette and there’s no A/C, neither of which were an issue for me. "

"Rain or shine, Hana never fails to disappoint. A stay here is tonic for the soul. After the busy activities in Lahaina area, it felt great to slow down and just be. The home was a tranquil place, beautiful yard of flowers to greet us, a strand of native bananas hung by the door for the picking. Good! We are two older couples and the accommodations were perfect. Close to town, a short walk to a dramatic black lava beach, you can see the ocean from the porch. And the porch....a special outdoor sleeping area. Just what we were looking for. Just beautiful."

"We loved staying at Hale Ulu Lulu. Sweet and comfortable cottage had everything we needed. Location was perfect. So close to Hamoa Beach and we loved seeing the ocean and hearing the surf. Wonderful spot!"
