The only downside to this property is that there's nothing else really around it. You would have to take a taxi to get into town to access other restaurants. The restaurant within the hotel serves good Thai food at ridiculously low prices, and the tables are directly on the beach (your feet in the sand, under the trees). I stayed there quite a few times, and thought it was quite a good deal."
"Based on what I paid which was close to $150 a night I would have expected more modern room and a better breakfast buffet but otherwise the place was clean with friendly staff and located right on the beach. The step over from the tub shower to the floor is non-standard height (higher than normal) so be prepared if you have shorter legs or mobility issues. "

"I only gave 3 stars because they discounted my stay due to their error. I booked a private 2 bedroom suite with private pool and they put me in a garden suite.... thank God I was traveling solo only for 1 night and not a week+ with my wife. It would have ruined the entire trip flying 20 hours from Canada for this experience, and that would have been a total failure. Still a severe let down for me personally and my travel partner. "We had the most wonderful stay. The rooms were beautifully appointed and maintained. The food was fantastic and the kitchen was very accommodating of my dietary needs. What really made our stay though was the staff. Everyone made us feel so welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. They were so patient and kind with our son.
I took off one star for location as the beach at this end isn’t quite as lovely as down the other end. It can be a little weedy and muddy at low tide as it’s in an inlet. We didn’t really swim at it. That said, I would happily stay at the Sala again. The pools, staff and food more than make up for it. It’s lovely and quiet compared to the other end of Chaweng Beach while still being walking distance to Central Samui."
