The building is going thru a update and going to be wonderful when complete. Everything was accurate as stated and the location was pleasant. Things to do and food close by. Anything we needed was across the street at the general store. A very pleasant stay and would look forward to another stay soon

This is a very clean and comfortable place to stay right on the ocean! It is well cared for by the staff who work 24/7 to make improvements and ensure you don’t have any issues. Very pet friendly and the permanent tenants are all very friendly as well!

For a pet friendly beach location, this was an ok choice. The bathroom and kitchen were very clean and new. The building is old and property amenities have not been updated. But just steps from lovely beach, on main Myrtle road and restaurants and attractions are within walking distance. Good Low-Budget rental! There was an undisclosed expensive pet fee, so don’t be fooled like we were.

there were a few roaches spotted. the pool listed online was not of the same condition in person. the restroom water pressure was very low. the restroom light switch was malfunctioning. we still enjoyed the stay, very convenient check in. nice oceanside view. convenient location, we would reserve Blue Palmetto again in the future

Very clean and all you need for oceanfront stay. Owner was very responsive. If there would be one small improvement I’d have a wall mounted fold down table for dining and taller outdoor chairs and bistro table. Otherwise perfect for my daughter and myself and 2 large dogs. Will stay again next year!

It was an average property. Lacked a few necessary items in the villa when staying at the beach. Each room needs a broom and dustpan because of tracking sand in. Each unit needs a toaster and/or bread pan in it. Each unit needs a starter kitchen supplies such as dish detergent, dish towels, & paper towels. Each unit needs at least 4 plates and 4 cereal bowls in it.

Would not stay again. Minimum effort put into making the room comfortable or functional. I called owner to get table that was not in room and received no response and had to go buy a table to work and eat dinner on. Kitchen barely had enough to function. Refrigerator leaked water onto my food. Overall rating poor and very unsatisfied

Please stay away from this place. We drove 22 hours to get here. The building is disgusting and surrounded by Garbage. The halls smell like smoke, urine and are incredibly dirty. Our room had mold across the ceiling, a dirty leaking sink, a dirty leaking shower, and a light that wouldn’t stay on in the bathroom. The floors in the room were slimy and the whole room smelled from mold. We did not stay here. We reached out to the host who responded 4 hours later. Being 22 hours from home we had no choice but to go rent a hotel after no response. We requested a refund and it was refused. I urge you if you read this to not book anything from Blue Palmetto Bay Villas.

At first glance the property appeared fine… There were two doors to access the property, only one was functional. No luggage racks to be found, condition upon entering the building was bad, borderline terrible. Made it to the room, smell was awkward but not terrible. Poo stains still in the toilet, and overall condition was bad. Refrigerator was clean, beds were made, and the AC was noisy but effective, we enjoyed the noise since it helped drown out outside noise. Fitted sheets on bed were way too small, and required getting up multiple times to stretch them back over. There was heavy plastic underneath the fitted sheet, I’m assuming to protect the mattress from urine since it was a pet friendly rental, but this resulted in it sounding like you were sleeping on wrapping paper. The kitchen fluorescent light did not work, neither did the vent fan in the bathroom. For the price we would never recommend this to anyone, it might be worth 89 a night at best.

This property really was strict on arrival/departure time. The property is RIGHT on the beach & we had a great view of beach! However, the property was undergoing an overdue renovation - which was why the price was good. However, they did not share that they were undergoing a renovation. The plumbing fixtures in our room were hodge-podge. The kitchen appliances were much newer. Thanks to the gentleman @ the desk who seemed to be with the property but verbally distanced himself. He offered us the code to finally get into our room (maybe 20 min. early). The codes to get in were emailed at 4:01. If not for him, we would have continued to wait downstairs for the code to begin our time at the beach. Certainly, all the rooms are being cleaned all the way up to 4:00pm?!?! Having been in the hotel/restaurant industry, I commend the owner or manager for finally bringing this building up to the new century. This building will hopefully be GREAT once done & under good management. No one should have to check in by email. There should always be someone at a front desk welcoming people, giving instructions, answering questions. Our rate was a good rate; we had to arrive to find out why it was low. Basically very clean in our rooms. I had messaged a few days earlier asking about what a "set of towels" includes; I never received a response. Check-out time was 10am; pretty early; most places are 11am. We left a little late, but the hskper was busy with another room.

The pictures posted are a fake, misrepresentaion! Pictures from different units were used to advertise the unit we stayed in. Upon entering the unit, where a non-smoking sign was listed on the door, the unit wreaked of from cigarettes and mold. All faucets leaked! The light over the mirror above the vanity did not work and the light switches were loose. The fan in the shower area blew inside instead of removing steam from the shower. A number of the electrical outlets were loose, electrical code violation, and some would not hold a plug. The microwave above the stove was very poorly attached and I was afraid the unit would come off of the wall when I opened the microwave door. The 2 small cabinets above the microwave did not have any doors as falsely shown in the advertisement. The kitchen sink backed up, with minimal water, due to bad plumbing. Also the vanity sink plumbing was reversed. The silverware and dishes were filthy and needed to be washed before use. The towel holder in the shower fell off of the wall! Underneath a very loud air conditioning unit (you will need earplugs to sleep)was a hole in the wall. One of the bed covers had blood stains on it! We used our own sheets and bed cover. The curtains smelled of mold and cigarettes. Beware, our unit did not look anything like the pictures posted in the VRBO advertisement. PLEASE read all negative reviews! The 5-star reviews are not in any way representative of this unit...maybe other units, but NOT our unit!

Overall, my stay with this property was amazing. One critique is that this property is a bit outdated. The bathroom/shower area was a bit old, but it’s functional so it’s not a major concern. It also doesn’t have ventilation, so after a shower it does get humid and hot, but also another thing that’s not the biggest concern. The room itself was clean, organized, and accurately reflected the pictures promoted. The location was great! It was quiet, right in front of the ocean and free parking! (It’s across the street from the property, not sketchy, but sometimes difficult to find parking) There’s also a shop in front of the property that has almost all basic necessities which came in handy! I would revisit this property again!
