"Probably built in the 1950's and shows. We stayed in room 4 which i think is the best room as it's kind of private. No coffee or shampoo but it was clean and neat. Owner was super helpful and kind. We stayed 2 nights and it was plenty comfortable. For the price, it was excellent. We would totally stay here again. "

"The bathroom door stopper cause there's a sliding door was not just the properly. It's smack my daughter's finger. And they just shrugged it off and got me to try to sign paperwork. Saying they weren't liable when they were 100% liable for that. I would write him as very garbage place."

"Shelter Cove is an absolute GEM, WAY off the beaten path. The hotel is in a prime location with beautiful views and direct access to black sands beaches, tide pools and even a lighthouse! The hotel is still being renovated, so it's not perfect. But the staff is helpful and the location is wonderful."

"The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the shower was HOT. Even had a heating lamp in the bathroom. Staff was super friendly and the property was so cute. Felt safe and wish i could have stayed longer. Will 100% be returning if I'm ever in the area!"

"This site was uniquely beautiful. Outside our screen door were two chairs at the edge of a small cliff overlooking the rugged coastline. We lost track of how much time we spent in these chairs. We saw the high tide. We saw the low tide. We saw large hawks swoop down low just in front of us. We watched deer as they sauntered right in front of our little cliff. We watched a baby seal play in the cove for nearly an hour. The weather was cool, the sea was tumultuous. That night in our room we fell asleep the steady roar of the ocean. And...there was a lovely cafe just 70 feet from our room. Now, the bad: You might find that the site used for pre-check-in to be difficult to use. For me it was a bad experience. My photos would not upload as the site kept rejectcing them. Finally I emailed the host and we took car of the pre-check-in photos through SMS. That was easy enough. They might want to find a frienlier pre-check-in process than the one I tired using at first."

"It was about what was expected. Check in was great. Person working the front was great. Was able to give suggestions on restaurants. As a hint to other quests, you sometimes need to ask for hot water before you hop in to the shower. Front desk needs to turn it on. "

"We were on a road trip and spent one night at this property, and it had all of the needed amenities, such as a microwave and refrigerator. It was extremely clean, the parking was easy and close to the cottage, and the staff was very nice and responsive. There is only one thing that I would suggest, and that is for management to put a caution sign on the rear gate, near the play structure, that leads to the forest. The sign should clearly state, “Enter at your own risk.” The gate, gives the impression that it is safe to enter, and that a defined trail awaits. Several guests, including myself, accessed the gate thinking that there would be a marked trail, but then we learned that there was not a defined trail and the area was filled with fallen trees and poison oak. This is a major safety issue because children can easily access this trail, especially with it being adjacent to a play area. Other than that, I would gladly stay here again and I highly recommend it to other travelers. "
