"We paid for our stay in full months in advance. When we arrived, the lodge was closed. We were told the owner had passed away.
While this is a tragic situation, it is not an excuse for leaving paying guests without any notice. No one contacted us, cancelled our reservation, or arranged alternative accommodation.
Instead of relaxing after a long drive, we had to spend the evening urgently searching for somewhere else to sleep.
