Riverside Hotel Merian - opening 2026

"I have stayed here previously when it was self check in. Now they have 24 hour service. I found check in and luggage storage very easy as I was early. And then I had a very pleasant room upgrade with a spectacular view of river. A nice touch was the selection of juice and pop in the fridge. And having a fan in the room was excellent. Very happy to stay and come back"

"Very close to the train station. Conveniently located. Friendly staff. When we checked in chair was broken in one room and the coffee maker was not working in the other room. Staff was able to address our needs."

"Room smelled like there had been a dog there. Laundry facilities were broken and they ordered the wrong machines so we had to walk to the laundromat. Shower door hung badly causing flooded bathroom floor every time we showered. Kind of far from downtown but had great transportation nearby and 2 grocery stores within walking distance."

"It’s a hostel with a difference. Small rooms down street like passageways. Communal showers and toilets. Hairdryers available. Only two microwaves to cook with and a fridge. Located centrally. Staff very helpful. It’s quiet too."

"The hotel is old, rooms are old, however, it was very, very quiet, safe and clean. The breakfast was excellent, very hearty with lots of variety. A great place to stay right outside of Freiburg with easy driving access to the old city. We would stay here again."

"Good hotel close to airport. Free airport shuttle every 30min - 5min drive. Clean rooms. Nice little pool and sauna. Restaurant downstairs under staffed on dinner service and a little slow but food is ok."
