"The cleaning at this property is done superficially. They need to do a deep clean as there is dirt in the corners, smell from the sheets and blanket, dust on applicances and slime in the kettle. There was a service door to the bathroom which isn't itself a problem, but I could smell cigarette smoke coming through every so often in the morning."

"We had the cottage closest to the dam. It was absolutely perfect, with the most amazing sunrise view from our bed, which the owner told us about otherwise we would have slept through it. Such a tranquil setting, wish we had more nights than our 2 nights, so we could have had more chill time at the property. Ideal base to explore attractions in surrounding area. "

"Wonderful setting I must say! And the venue was well laid out with its ponds, etc. The rooms were drab, dark, old and small - it felt very crammed with all the furniture in it. There was a small fridge in the room, which was great, but there was no bottled water in the room and we had been told not to drink the tap water. The bathroom especially, was very poor - it had cracked tiles in the shower and weak water pressure, no shelves for toiletries, and the cistern took forever to fill up. We...

"We had a lovely stay. So impressed with the cleanliness of the establishment. Friendly staff... The only problem we had was the contact number given on our confirmation was incorrect. The last digit was wrong, and we struggled to get hold of the establishment. Also if we can make a suggestions, of having visible signage on the outside of the establishment as there is none, only once you enter the premises. This would make it a bit easier for guests who are unfamiliar with the area."

"Fantastic size and cleanliness with plenty of supplies (milk, tea, coffee, fruit, cleaning products) provided. Staff would assist with anything uncluding washing up and laundry, so not really "self-catering" if you wish. Note: parys of road can be rough depending on rainfall so I would not use a sedan, but at least a light SUV. "

"Check in was bad and the welcome not good due to us booking on hotels.com and the manager did not know how to claim the free nights I had and booked for it. Then she tried to tell us we had to pay and later came to sort of apologize but just not a good reception Management is really bad at your property and the place is going backwards as no one sees to it that things get repaired in the cabins or that cleanlines is maintained. "We really enjoyed our New Year's stay with Ronelle at our "Pretty Piggy" cottage at Forellenhof Guest Farm. We stayed there over the New Year's period and Ronelle was fantastic in recommending places we could visit to celebrate New Year's. We ended up staying at home and watching the fireworks over Wakkerstroom from our veranda. What fun! Thank you, Ronelle. "This is a rustic camp. I stayed at one of the tent cabins. I loved the quiet, solitude and being in the trees. I woke up to birds chirping in the morning and numerous animal noises throughout the day and night with the occasional monkey jumping on the roof. I enjoyed the camping vibe that added to my Africa stay. Andre was a excellent host and helped arrange day trips. My only issue was hot water and I believe Andre fixed that issue."

"We hired 2 chalets' no's 528 & 529. 528 was in good shape but 589 was not. The master bedroom carpets were dirty and the chalet needed painting. We paid for half board but found the food generally very poor. Breakfast was OK with eggs cooked while you waited, the sausages and bacon were good but there was little fresh fruit.
