"After a long day on trains and ferries, in hot waiting rooms and dragging luggage up hills, it was a total RELIEF to be in a beautiful, elegant, well air conditioned hotel suite. Traveling w/an adult son, it was terrific to give him a bit of privacy bec the room had a clever wall, dividing the main bedroom from a sitting area where the twin bed was located. Huge bathroom, classic balconies, on a quiet square. Great place w/American hotel standards but Italian class and charm."

"We had a few things we wanted to do in Messina - the Caravaggio paintings at the Museum, the astronomical clock and a few other things. We had a wonderful stay - the hotel is so convenient, we loved the breakfast. Seems I should say more, but will simply add that we would / will stay here again and strongly recommend it to others."

"Great location in characterful hotel. Our sea view was fab. But … struggled to get communication answered especially regarding pick up from station. Only saw staff when booked in and on the off chance on our last day. Place felt good of all hotel reps although room was cleaned while we out each day. Lovely eateries nearby and beaches are walking distance."

"Room 403 is extremely clean, all sanitary fixtures are well maintained and are exceptionally clean, room floor is wood finished and absolutely clean, windows are well maintained fully operable, HVAC and associated thermostat are quick response, intelligent and rapid acting without any operating noise. Elevator is perfect. Beach is less than 15 minutes walk, very clean and water is clear blue and warm, Restaurant breakfast is full, plenty and delicious, dinner is delicious and delicious local Ciro Bianca wine cannot be found elsewhere in Europe. I and my wife loved the experience of staying at Continental Hotel last two weeks and swam most days for long hours in straight or laid in the sun for long hours. Railway station is 10 minutes walk and Corso Garibaldi is 18 minutes walk. Highly recommend Hotel Continental, as it exceeded expectations. With our greatest apopeciation and gratitude to management and staff at Hotel Continental. Regards with our best wishes"

"The staff memories were lovely everyone you meet was pleasant. The property itself needs to be better taken care of from the outside of the building to the Un manicured grass- The bathroom or shower tiles need to be cleaned or updated a lot better than it is- My room was clean. The bed sheets were clean. Location is good The café bars was decent- opened every time I visited! The staff very helpful unpleasant. If staying there just know that the properties needs maintenance/updates"

"The location is absolutely beautiful. The staff are friendly and so helpful, going out of their way to accommodate. We experienced equivalent hospitality across every staff, from reception to bell boy to bar lobby (Fabio and Frederica!) to espresso maker to housekeeping and the lifeguard! So sincere, they seem to love doing what they do. For ease of mobility, there are working elevators to pool areas and up to the 3rd floor of the hotel rooms. Reception was helpful to change our room to 3rd floor for my handicapped husband. After 6:00 PM, there is live music and eager lobby bar staff to make you feel comfortable with beverages and snacks. Restaurant has excellent presentation, mainly buffets with some à la carte options. One of the best options, the hotel has a partnership with a local beach club with transportation! Highly recommend this hotel experience."
