"This is an amazing place, a fantastic location.
A really nicely renovated old farm house.
The rooms are so comfortable, & tastefully finished, probably some of the best we have stayed in.
The food was simple, but such good quality.
The hosts went out of their way to make us feel welcome.
They need a six star rating 😉👍

Medieval stone houses cling to steep hillsides above the Tarn River, where kayakers paddle beneath dramatic limestone cliffs. Hike up to the ancient castle ruins for panoramic views, then sample local cheeses at the village's charming weekly market.
This was hands down our favorite stay over the course of a two-week trip in southwestern France. The owners are so very kind and helpful, and the home itself is beautifully refurbished. All the rooms have lovely views, either of the garden or of the plateaus across the valley. We enjoyed chatting with the owners who were very patient with the limits of our French language abilities! Choose this place if the area works for your journey - you will be very glad you did!

Staff helpful, comfortable room, good breakfast, stay overnight so didn’t use amenities. Not all rooms handicap accessible but are available. A little hard to find and check-in ends at 9:30 pm.

The hotel was just what we wanted, a hotel in a very small and cute town. Hotel is not luxurious, but it's very serviceable/comfortable. The picture of the water is misleading, as there is no river near the town.

We were happy to roll into La Canourgue after a beautiful, if sometimes scary drive through Cévennes. The Hotel Du Commerce has decent parking, because it is also what appears to be a popular restaurant and bar. We weren't able to try the food, because we arrived too late and left too early in the morning. We checked in with the man at the bar; he was friendly and quick to help. Our room was spacious and clean. After checking in, we strolled around the town and found many interesting alleyways...
