"Great place, great food & very friendly staff."

"Had a lovely stay. We booked an apartment which turned out to be a lovely bungalow. The accommodation was a little dated but spotlessly clean and very spacious, great little extras such as kitchen roll, tea towels etc. resort was beautiful, highly recommend the leisure facilities it’s a shame there’s no restaurant. The bar is open 5-10pm but it would be good to be able to get a drink or coffee during the day. Came for a rest and it was perfect. I hope to come back one day. "

"Right in the center of town and an easy walk from the train station in Barnstaple. Everything is right there in walking distance and it's all just as funky and charming and welcoming as can be! The hotel's foundation has sunken a bit (or more in some places) which is charming but a little disconcerting if you're thinking you might fall out of bed!"

"Loved the boutique decor and quirky nature of the building. The setting is perfect, right by the waterfront. Parking is a bit of an issue, so don't come back to the hotel until 4 pm, when parking is better ( fewer daytrippers). Bed was hard and pillows were not very comfortable, but that was only my taste. Breakfast was very good with a nice buffet and choices for cold and hot cooked food. "

"Russel and Nicky made us feel very welcome and at home , the breakfast are amazing and worth a revisit alone ! The room was clean and tidy , the en-suite was spacious and the views from our windows over the river were great . We had bedroom 3 and the river runs directly outside and the sounds and views of the river are very relaxing . We would highly recommend to anyone wanting a lovely quiet peaceful break with lovely walks right on your doorstep.. we will be back for sure "

"Beautifully situated within easy walking distance of shops/walks/harbour and beach. Room 16 was small, which is expected in an old building, but was characterful with great sea view. The thick walls made it very cool on a scorching day. Only downside was bath could do with a shower curtain and car park gets very busy and is 5 min walk. Enjoyed the food in the restaurant both at breakfast and dinner. Would stay again."
