"We really enjoyed our stay and couldn't fault it. The property was well equipped with everything we needed and spotlessly clean. Angela was very friendly and provided us with good suggestions of where to visit and where to eat. We travelled to many of the villages and towns she recommended and loved Basilicata. "We are two young families who booked this wonderful property to use as a home base for traveling around together in Southern Italy and we are so glad we did. The home's proximity to Matera is perfect as it was only a 10 min drive and we were able to explore the city daily (the owner's recommendations for dining and sites were spot on) and then return to the expansive property and enjoy wine and the breathtaking sunsets while the kids played in the huge pool. "Very comfortable and nicely updated. On the small size but good enough size for 2 people. Parking available so that was a nice for being in the old town. Kitchen could be better equipped if you plan on cooking. Montescagliosa is a charming mountain town and a nice change from nearby towns with more tourists than locals walking the cobbled streets."

"My daughter and I stayed here in May 2024. We absolutely loved this property! The property is beautiful and unique! There are underground cisterns to explore. There is a live piano player at breakfast. Breakfast is delicious! Our room was beautiful. It was the first time I ever arrived to my hotel room with a lit candle!! Beautiful! The property location was perfect for us. It was convienent to park outside of the sassi in a garage and be picked up by shuttle. The hotel is on a great street with restaurant options and a minutes walk to a plaza right at the rim of the “Grand Canyon”. The staff was absolutely amazing, even the owner’s dog made an appearance at breakfast. We highly recommend this hotel!! "
