This is not a 4 star hotel its budget and worked perfectly for me. It does what it says on the tin !! Its great value and so near the railway station , yet on a quiet side street. "Everyone was extremely welcoming and attentive. The Chateau looks amazing on arrival and even more so in the evening. It has a fabulous pool area and the views over the surround countryside are stunning. Our room was lovely which also had amazing views. There is parking on site and we had breakfast booked which was good. The village is a stones throw and definitely worth going to visit. "

"After reading the reviews we decided to take a punt and book the holiday. I’m so glad we did! All the reviews (good and bad) are spot on. The property is ‘rustic’. There are no frills but the layout of the house was perfect for 2 families and it is spotlessly clean and well equipped with everything you need. We all forgot towels and Lucie was at the door before I had even signed off. "

"The rural setting was perfect - so peaceful - just what we needed. A soaring buzzard and a few tiny lizards in the garden were the only regular visitors 😂!! We loved the house and it was very well equipped, especially in the kitchen with lots of thoughtful touches. The pool is fabulous - a really good size. As it’s not heated, it maybe a tad brisk on cooler days but great as the weather heats up. There were all sorts of games available- including a table tennis table, badminton and a football - all great to keep family entertained on relaxing days by the pool. The upstairs rooms are all beautifully done and very spacious. The large lounge is great for relaxing and watching TV together after a long day out. Downstairs has a more traditional toilet and bathroom and also has a nice updated and spacious bedroom similar to the upstairs ones. Jenny is a lovely host and was very helpful and quick to respond to all my emails. The Welcome pack was very well out together and had a lots of useful info for our stay. We specifically chose the rural location for the tranquility and we were not disappointed. There is beautiful surrounding countryside with sunflower fields and vineyards. Bergerac airport, town and supermarket are all within 20-25mins which is great. Some of the places we wanted to visit (Rocamadour, Padirac caves, Sarlat) were 2-3hrs by car but well worth a visit. Overall, we had a fabulous holiday and would love to go back again as La Roche is a real gem."
