"Very poor attension to opening the breakfast times. I was to open at 7am, but didnt open until 7.45 on a Monday before our teams work. Poor selection of breakfast, no taking care of damp towels in room or the room when returning. Would assume there was cleaning to take place the days I stayed. Over payed for the price it was "

"This place is impeccable. In spite of it being in an historic building it has been lovingly maintained. Our triple room had an enormous bedroom with twin sinks. The beds were in separate rooms and there were original paintings on the walls. Breakfast was very good. Stay there if you’re in the area."

"It was a little hard to find but the welcome was excellent, the location was in beautiful country, peaceful and unspoilt yet only 2km off the road to Auch. The owner is a wonderful cook so dinner and breakfast were superb with a nice wine menu. The room and bathroom were well decorated, everything to like."

The attention to detail on the decor of the whole property gives a truly comforting & relaxed feel. The hotel is in a great location within a short 5-10 minute walk in to Chinon centre. "Staff good . Bedding clean and comfortable. Air conditioning not working, mouldy shower ceiling, carpet very worn. Whole hotel needs a revamp. Breakfast buffet not great choice. Overpriced. Car parking very easy and hotel was not noisy. Would not use again unless keen to stay in Parthenay."
