Fabulous holiday at this Brilliant Villa

The villa is well positioned for sightseeing and very spacious with a fabulous pool and pretty outside area. The views from the villa are spectacular with some lovely walks all around. Really enjoyed this holiday experience and look forward to going again in the not too distant future.

Wondefull villa in a good location

We had a wonderful family vacation. Plenty of room for our party of 4 grownups and 4 children. The villa is well equipped, has a large pool and a large property around the house for children to explore and play.

Mombaldone

Lovely villa in a quiet setting. We enjoyed the large pool and the staff inside areas. It is a good base to explore a few places. We got the train to Turin and drove to surrounding areas during our stay. Carole was excellent with communication and came back to us very quickly if we had any questions.

Perfect Getaway

Set amongst the most stunning surroundings, Villa Mombaldone is the perfect getaway for those wanting to escape the hustle and bustle. The Villa is decorated and equipped to the highest standard. After a day by the pool, a BBQ enjoyed under the gazebo is a wonderful way to take in the sights by night. A place where when our holiday was over our only regret was not staying for longer.

A beautiful villa in stunning countryside

We had a lovely stay with our two sons and their girlfriends. The villa is a real home from home with everything you could wish for. The kitchen has every item you can think of and the welcome pack was very useful. My sons really enjoyed the selection of films and X Box and we all had great fun in the pool and the wonderful outside area. We would definitely recommend this villa for a peaceful and relaxing get away.

Lovely home from home

Myself and my boyfriends stay here was brilliant, the villa is in a beautiful location with amazing views! The villa was lovely, all the essentials were kindly there when we arrived which was a great help after travelling. The pool is great and has seats to relax around and enjoy the gorgeous garden. There are some brilliant restaurants nearby which are all in the really helpful book put together by Carole, which is full of nearby things to do and help with appliances etc around the house. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again!

A beautifull, well equiped villa

The villa was a great hit. We enjoyed our two weeks stay enormously. The kitchen was well equiped, the bedrooms comfortable and cool (even in this tropical heat), the bathrooms clean and functionable. The garden was well maintained with a great swimming pool and a nice patio for 'al fresco' dining. The villa is well located with a lot of interesting villages and cities in easy reach. Next to the well known sites such as Astia and Alba, we can recommend a visit to Savona and to the seasiide resort of Noli. We certainly will recommend this property to our friends and family.

The Beaumonts, England

The villa is beautiful and very well presented. The neighbours were lovely and extremely helpful, particularly when we had a puncture on one of our motorbikes and they helped introduce us to the village mechanic who lent us a spanner. We were also really impressed with the lady who runs the village bar who arranged a night at the lovely village restaurant where we had a fantastic meal. The couple who run the restaurant seemed to have opened up specially and cooked and served a really memorable meal. This is the nicest villa we have stayed in while in Italy and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Beautiful villa with an enormous, secure garden.

Thank you for the welcome pack it was much appreciated after our long journey. This is a beautiful ,spacious villa in a lovely quiet part of Piedmont. The garden is massive, our dog enjoyed chasing her tennis ball around it, early in the morning. The pool was very relaxing. The villa has a very well equipped kitchen. The fans were very welcome on a night, as it was so hot. The views of the sunrises and sunsets from the house were amazing.

Villa Mombaldone

We had a lovely week at Villa Mombaldone, the villa is situated in a very quiet location & the gardens were very well kept. The kids loved the pool (although it was a bit cold at times). The villa itself was clean, had big airy rooms & we loved the welcome pack that you did us with all the essentials in. You thought of everything & catered for everybody's needs. We loved having the bbq's & sitting outside, especially at night when it was nice & cool. Theres plenty of nice quality restaurants to visit & they serve fresh, authentic Italian menus. The supermarkets were good & had everything you needed in them. It was a home from home & we would love to have a return visit.

Fantastic villa and pool in lovely surroundings.

First impressions fantastic. The size of the villa, the size of the pool and the in-house entertainment and facilities. My son (aged 16) was very impressed. In particular the welcome pack with fresh local products was very well received considering the time of our arrival. The villa is set in lovely grounds and is clean and well maintained. Lots of information is made available if you need it. In the week we were staying, there was some day-time noise coming from work going on in the area but generally it was pretty quiet. Overall we had a fantastic holiday and left wishing we had stayed longer than a week.

Beautiful villa

This is a beautiful villa in a lovely part of Piedmonte. It is well furnished and secure in a picturesque setting. Not far to drive to Acqui Terme and other small villages but Mombaldone and Roccaverona are definitely worth a visit. Ordinarily I would have given it a 5 star rating but we were there during the end of April with very cool temperatures and the house does not have central heating. There are pellet stoves in the two hallways and in the living room to help with heating but they don't cover the bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen or dining room. Our advice would be to visit during the summer months.

A great week in Piedmont

We had a wonderful week at the house. The home and the grounds were beautiful and spacious, very comfortable for our group of four adults and three teenagers. This is a quieter part of Piedmont than the area around Alba, but the scenery is beautiful and there are many little hill towns, including Mombaldone, a medieval walled village, which is just a mile or so from the house. We also went to Acqui Terme, just 30 minutes away, for dinner several times. But mostly, we just enjoyed the house and the pool and the lovely weather. Our hosts were very responsive to any questions about the house; they even helped us find a mechanic in town when we had a flat tire. Would love to return.

Incredible villa set in breath taking surroundings

Our second visit to Villa Mombledone and we weren't disappointed. With 4 adults and two toddlers the villa is of a size for a lovely family holiday without being on top of each other. The villa is so well equipped with a feeling of home from home and with views we could never tire of in this lifetime. On arrival the welcome pack of supplies was a wonderful touch which meant we could settle in and shop the next day. Perfect for a relaxed holiday soaking up the sun by the pool but plenty to do out and about so a car a must. Can highly recommend Roccaverano just a short drive away. Climbing the tower for those of us less than happy with heights was made worth while by the views on offer from the top. Plus the gelato and coffee is not to be missed. Won't be our last visit to this beautiful villa :)

A perfect week!

We were two couples here for a week in September; it was sunny all week and in a really beautiful place. The house is fantastic and equipped with everything you need, we made great use of the barbecue, bikes, massive TV and wireless internet. There is a restaurant down the road that serves great pizzas, perfect for a wander down when you can't be bothered to cook. The gardens were our favourite part - big swimming pool next to the vineyard and trees to the front of the house. We used the barbecue most days and really enjoyed eating outside in the patio area. We could have easily stayed around the house all week but the local spa town acqui terme is beautiful and has great restaurants. We also visited Savona on the Italian riviera which took less than an hour and is well worth a visit. I know there are a lot of other places to visit in the area but we found it so hard to drag ourselves away from the house. We did stay over in Sirmione on lake Garda the night before we flew back from Milan and it was absolutely beautiful. Really is the perfect place for a holiday.

Great villa in a beautiful location

Our family of six spend a wonderful week at the end of May in this great villa in Mombaldone. The weather was fantastic so the kids jumped into the pool right when we arrived after a spending the day on the road. We could have easily spend our entire week at the property as it is just perfect. I have seen many holiday homes but none compares to this one: spacious rooms, beautifully decorated, clean; a fantastic garden with all the privacy you want and on top the house is equipped with many things you would put in your own home: e.g. plenty of towels, a good size TV with a nice selection of DVDs (we didn't watch any as there were too many other great things to do), bicylces etc. Could not ask for more. One last thing: a welcome package in the fridge with milk, pasta, butter, and even some wine. Equally generous and thoughtful. I can only say thank you, Carole and Alan.

ten out of ten other than the pool

welcome pack, location ,house facilities grounds,extras supplied ,bikes,all ten out of ten holiday let down by lack of attention to pool told only cleaned and checked one a week (never known be for for example Majorca every day Spain three times a week Italy every other day France asked to drop a automatic machine into the pool each day and top up the chlorine due to not checking the pool the failed filter pump was not noticed for two days and whilst replaced the next day we then had a green slim around the pool which we reported but had to clean with a mop and sponge we then noted there was no chlorine in the filters and was told it was not necessary???? how ever it was topped up the next morning Result unable to use the pool for four days Nb we do have photos of the green in pool With moor attention to the pool this villa would be 6 star

Immaculate house with wonderful garden and pool

The house is as lovely as it appears online and the garden is even better as plants have grown up and many were in flower in August. This is one of the best equipped houses we have ever stayed in - excellent kitchen equipment, good dishwasher and washing machine, DVDs, books (including guide books), maps of the area, board games and outside games (boules, racquets, frisbees etc). Everything had been thought of to make it a relaxing stay. The pool was immaculate when we arrived and a lovely temperature to swim in. Outside eating area with excellent BBQ was brilliant, we sat there every night. The plants in the garden were watered in the early mornings by a neighbour and the evenings by a sprinkler system -beware, don't sit by the pool at 7.15pm! Lots of different places to sit in the garden, for sun or shade lovers. There was a lovely range of local goodies on arrival (including fresh pasta, eggs, tomatoes, fruit, milk, coffee, beer, red and sparkling wine). One of our party is coeliac and I had emailed Carole in advance to ask about buying gluten free food in Italy (by the way - much easier than in England!) and we were delighted to see on arrival a huge array of gluten free food provided as well, how thoughtful. We had one or two issues during the week - pedal fell off a bike, and the internet connection was a real issue, but Carole was quick to answer email queries and was always very helpful. Some lovely villages in the local area and driving over the hills to the Barolo vineyards was stunning. Highly recommended for a comfortable, relaxing holiday.

Everything we hoped for and more

My husband and I originally booked the property due to its location in the vineyards of Northern Italy and its accessibility to tourist attractions and major airports. Win, win, right? What we were not anticipating was the picturesque surroundings that can be viewed from the house and the overall sense of relaxation we received from our visit. Upon arriving at the property, we were shocked at how big it is. We felt safe in that it is gated, with beautiful trees lining the perimeter. The location gave us an authentic feel and experience of the mountains of Italy. As an American, I’ve always been in awe of pictures of Northern Italy, and this stay was even more beautiful than I had anticipated. The house itself had all the facilities we required. It included a swimming pool, a fully working kitchen with everything needed for cooking, heaters around the property and comfortable beds. The entire property was very clean, from the massive yard to the bathrooms and bedrooms. There was a balcony on the second floor from which we ate our breakfast while enjoying the great views. There were also multiple dining tables and seating areas, both inside and outside. We didn’t even need to leave the property on some days, as the wifi and tv both worked great. There’s even a vineyard in the front yard, which I found to be quite beautiful. On the days when we did venture out, there were ample amounts of towns and tourist attractions nearby, including Lake Maggiore (which we’d certainly recommend others visit)! One day we took the train, which is in walking distance of the house, to Acqui Terme. With our rental car, we were able to drive around the vineyards and stop off at a couple for wine tasting. Let’s just say the wine tasting went great and we left with a few bottles, which were a lot cheaper than in the States. Overall, we’d recommend this property to others – 5 stars! Our only regrets were that we didn’t leave ourselves enough time to go exploring on the bikes and have a cookout one night on the grill. So much to do, not enough time.

what a holiday what a VILLA

Just had a fabulous couple of weeks in this well appointed Villa in the Mombaldone area of Piedimonte. There were 4 of us staying in this well appointed house in a lovely wine producing region. The grounds of the villa were superb, with plenty of mature trees and vines surrounding the property. Wether you wanted to just lie down and sun bathe all day or just relax in a shady nook he choice is yours. On top of this there was the bonus of a gem of an 11 metre swimming pool which was put to good use by our party on several occasions during out stay. We ate in 2 or 3 nights and found that the kitchen and dinning area was more than adequate to enjoy a good meal. Also outside on the terrace is a Barbecue which was also put to good use, you can't beat dinning Al fresco on a beautiful hot summers evening swilling it down with a glass or 3 of fine local wine, or in my case the odd glass or 5 of local beer, "Perfect" The local Village's of Mombaldone, Montechiaro & Acqui Terrne had some wonderful Restaurants and bars. We did indeed sample the food in several of these eateries having plenty of fun along the way because of our lack of Italian, but hey with a phrase book a translator app on my mobile phone and a little bit of Brummie & Yorkshire thrown in we managed to get by. Driving from the Airport {Milan Malpensa in our case} was quite easy as the roads are very well laid out and not very busy when we we there. Driving to the Italian Riviera Genoa & Savona was about an hour again the roads were not too bad to drive on but you can always go by Train, Acqui Terrne is well worth a day or even a night out as there are some interesting sights there including the famous Thermal Spa. There is also a very good Supermarket on the way to Acuqï Terrne called Bennett's were you can purchase all your holiday needs and more. If you want something different then have a day out in Turin, it is a beautiful city with lot's of things to see and do. The buildings & Piazzas are a must to see. We drove up to Asti and then got the train into Turin which saved us the bother of driving around a busy City then trying to find a suitable place to park. It took 30 mins on the train from Asti and only cost 14 euros each return. It was a sad day when we had to pack up and return home, can't wait to go again.

Great property, specifically for dog owners

Very large property, fully fenced in. So great to let your dog run around freely, as long as the dog behaves well and does not climb on furniture or jump into the pool. Our dog (24kg Mioritic) enjoyed it fully. No dogs at the neighborhood property (there is only 1), so no barking. Very nice pool, big enough to do some laps (ca. 12m long). House is very large, so on days with bad weather no problem since everybody can have an own room. TV, DVD, XBox games, so never boring. Some cleanliness issue initially until we found out that the dish washer upper compartment was defective (to be repaired soon), which the guests before us did not realize, so some dirty bowls and glasses. Just washing in the lower compartment is fine, but only 50% of the dish-load then.
