Moon Shadow Lodge: An Adirondack Retreat

"Quaint and quirky cabin in a secluded area of New York's Adirondacks. Good description with excellent communication. Little surprised to find the bedroom was only accessible by entering through the bathroom but you can get used to that easily enough. Well equipped kitchen. Wifi adequate(which is a bigger deal that you might think as cell coverage is very spotty). Outstanding heating system that uses multiple devices to tailor heat to each room(it gets cold in those mountains). All in all, a very nice way to spend our first full week post retirement trip. If you are looking for an 'off the beaten path' way to experience the Adirondacks, this will fill the bill. Within reasonable driving distance of the Saratoga National Battlefield, Fort Ticonderoga, Lake George, Manchester and Bennington Vermont and much more. And the fall foliage is spectacular. If I had one niggling concern, it could have been cleaner--sand in shower, unswept floors and a hidden doggie accident but they were easy enough to tidy up (well, the pee stain required some elbow grease but I think that is somewhat to be expected in a pet friendly VRBO--kinda made us miss our dogs who just weren't up to our 1400 mile drive). If you are seeking a quiet getaway in this part of the country, this is a very solid choice with an owner that provides excellent communication and otherwise leaves you alone. I hope we can get back that way again as there is more to see and do. Thanks for a very nice stay."

"We enjoyed our stay at Our Happy Place. The accommodations were quaint, cozy and extremely clean. The check in was simple and communication was excellent. I messaged Kimberly a few times and she responded almost immediately. Although the cabin is on the same property as the Host’s house, we never had the opportunity to meet them. They gave us our privacy and we respected theirs. Our stay was for a long weekend in the off season so the lake area was quiet but still beautiful. We would highly recommend this property and would return for another stay in the future. "
North Creek Lodge at Gore Mountain

"When we arrived it looked deserted. Went to check in and luckily the girl that managed it 4 years popped out. She explained what transpired since we were there last and how it’s undergoing a new transformation and maybe a name change. She’s very welcoming and remembered us instantly. So it’s a new work in progress. It may not be the 100% now but it will be. They’re starting over from scratch. I love this little hideaway and will probably go back."

"This property is magical. Set up like a little town. Absolutely beautiful well kept gardens, animals roaming about. This is a wonderful place to unwind and be with nature. Great atmosphere for families, romantic getaways, or solo adventurers looking to find themselves."

"The family had a wonderful Labor Day weekend, spending the time at the house and with the water, kayaking and canoeing.The home was super clean super prepared for all guests.The owner was accessible at all times in months before our arrival and during our our stay.We highly recommend staying."
