New Years Vacation

Stayed here for the week of New Year's and loved our stay. House was comfortable and accommodating for family of 5, and the kids loved using the golf cart to go to the beach and the wharf.

Very nice house and great amenities near by. Beds are amazing and house was clean. Not impressed with Scenic Stays, they are poor communicators and will send text messages that you may check in early but that was not true in our case. We messaged them that we arrived at our property after they sent a message that it may be ready early, but after waiting we received no response and didn’t receive our code till 4. Clearly the property was ready early but they didn’t want to give us the code early. So we waited. Then to our BIG surprise, the house we stayed in was being sold and the realtor needed to show the buyer the house the final time. Scenic Stays did not communicate this to us and we didn’t find out what was going on until the realtor had to explain the situation to us in the driveway of the home we were renting while on our vacation. We removed our belongings from the home so the buyer could go in for the final walk through and we left so she could finalize things. Again this all should have been communicated well in advance but was not. Scenic Stays has no problem sending messages for check out, but when it comes to other things be prepared for no response. I doubt others will have the buyer/realtor surprise that we did, but it’s worth noting. Scenic Stays never apologized for the inconvenience, luckily the buyer & realtor appreciated us changing our plans & made it right.

Perfect family getaway

The house is beautiful and it was perfect for our family of 5! We loved the closeness to the pool, the golf cart for getting around the resort and going to the beach. We didn’t have to wait on the tram because we had our own golf cart. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. I personally loved the back porch.

Nice Place

The home itself was nice but the cleanliness left something to be desired. Also could use additional amenities like a full size coffee pot and grill. The golf cart is wonderful but a little hard to steer. Overall, I’d probably stay again.

Nice house and location, Golf cart don’t work

3 Navy Veterans and their wives, I book the house because it was listed as a nice home in a nice location with an excellent 6 seater golf cart. We all loved the house and location, but because the golf cart would not hold a charge we did get the all out experience we were looking for. Call for help sucked. We stayed 4 days and the cart worked for day 1 and the rest of the days it would shut day minutes after driving it. The cart is a part of the experience, everyone else was enjoying themselves on their cart and we have to use our vehicles to ride around the resort. I booked the house for us and I was embarrassed about the experience.

No hot water

The entire stay we had no hot water and when it was time to check in the code to the house was incorrect it was very hard to get in touch with someone the entire stay. We didn’t get hot water until out absolutely last day and even on that day it still wasn’t hot. It was very hard getting sand off with cold water. I’m been coming to Destin for the last 8 years and this was by far the worst my family had.

Overall a great stay!

Our family found the Laurel Grove community last year and fell in love with it, so we sought out a place to stay there for this year's vacation. The neighborhood is wonderful - peaceful and a great pool. Upon arrival, we first noted a dark substance along the baseboard in the kitchen and in front of kitchen appliances. We learned from inquiry it was combat gel for roaches put out by the exterminator. Perhaps a necessity but nothing we had ever encountered in our previous 15 years of staying in the Sandestin area. We used paper plates for most of our stay but, after running out towards the end of the week, we began using the supplied dishes in the cabinet. Every single plate (and that's no exaggeration) we pulled out was dirty with dried food on it. I have never left a negative review and I hate doing so, but dirty plates is unacceptable. When our daughter pulled back her bedding there was a Starburst wrapper in the sheets. When I had to clean up water that spilled on the floor with a paper towel the paper towel was black from dirt, and that was at the beginning of our stay. The front and back porches have spider webs and dirt and grime caked onto the adirondack chairs and siding. Cleanliness (or the lack thereof) was a disappointment. Also, about half of the electrical outlets in the house do not work, including both outlets in the hall bath on the first floor, the outlets in the main part of the master bath on the first floor, the outlet on the right side of the bed in the master bedroom, and the outlets in the upstairs bathroom. Overall the house is in a great location with wonderful amenities, but the house itself needs attention.
