"Lovely, tranquil, relaxing and peaceful getaway, away from people. The villa’s outside area is extraordinary, particularly the kitchen. The pool likewise is excellent, very clean, and has a fantastic view. Beautifully designed and well thought through. Inside, the air conditioning is brilliant. Kitchen is pretty well stocked. And should there be a bad weather day, having the living room is also good. "

"This is a great villa for families wanting privacy and to escape the busy resorts in this part of Spain. A short drive away from beautiful Cómpeta with supermarkets and lovely restaurants. The ice cream shop in Competa is definitely worth a visit- it’s close to Dias supermarket. The pool at the villa was perfect for us and lots of space outside- plenty of shaded areas and we appreciated the use of outdoor towels and a few beach toys. Lovely bedrooms, comfy beds and all rooms have air conditioning and fans. Great that there are cupboards full of spices, sauces, oils, teas and coffees left over from previous guests. The villa has everything you might need (except a sieve and a baking tray ;)). We loved our holiday. Definitely recommend. A car is essential and be prepared for the long and winding roads…..overall- excellent value for money 10/10 "
"A good location for us, we know the area from previous visits. We wanted somewhere close to Competa but El Dorado had a the added bonus of a pool!!! Marek and Derek have thought of everything, the room was spacious with good shower facilities and wardrobe space. We were not expecting the offer to have lunch and dinner, as we travel around quite a lot we did not take up this extra offer. However, the breakfast provided was extensive and sets you up for the day! There is the option to use the ‘honesty bar’ which is a lovely touch! I took advantage of having a facial during my stay which was exceptional! The products were good quality. The villa is a short drive to Competa and about 25mins back down to Algorobbo. You can take the road down to Torrox Costa which is a little more narrow. It was a great addition to our holiday spent travelling around the area and we would love to stay here again! "

"Vréneli, Ruud, Estrella and Estela couldn’t have been better hosts.
This is a fabulous space to relax in mountains of Andalusia, after an hour or so driving from Málaga airport. We hired a car from the airport and were glad to have chosen an automatic with a little more power than the average entry level rental car. The drive is fairly straightforward from Málaga Airport.
By all accounts there are some amazing hikes, although the purpose of our trip was to switch off and relax as much as possible, and we had no intention of doing anything active.
It’s tough to beat a delightful breakfast, freshly prepared and beautifully presented by Estela or Estrella, either looking towards La Maroma (the highest peak of the Sierra de Tejeda) or, from the other side of the table, down the valley to the Mediterranean Sea. Made better still with quality coffee, (and Cava’s always an option).
Both Estrella and Estela were very patient with our extremely rudimentary Spanish conversations and have great local knowledge. Estrella very kindly made dinner reservations for us each night at different restaurants around Cómpeta, a short drive away. Our favourites were El Cortico Paco and for accommodating dietary requirements, the staff at El Pámpano were particularly helpful.
We have already recommended Málaga Hills to friends and colleagues since returning home."
