"A very cheerful and helpful welcome which is always appreciated. The Hotel was conveniently beside the A4 and easy to find. The room and bathroom were immaculately clean and comfortable with all the expected amenities. Dining in the Hungry Horse was OK but not exceptional. The availability of a Snacks/Drinks Vending Machine was also a bonus. Would highly recommend."

"Great staff and it was a good location for my specific trip and easy access to Test River trout fishing spots. The coop grocery store a block away was convenient. Breakfast at White Hart was excellent. Dinner was good too. Some road noise in the large room I had due to exposure to road, but I still slept well on comfy bed. Everything important worked very well. "

"The pub is on a busy road but the room was set back from the road and there was no issue with the noise. Plenty of parking available. Unfortunately we stayed on a very hot night, and even with the fan provided we struggled to sleep. "It was our 3 time in staying at the hatchet inn it was good ,but not its usual standard ,the room above us which was no 3 the occupant decided to go bed at midnight waking us up ,by banging doors running up and down the stairs making a lot noise in the room this went on for 2 hours ,then at 4 am they started being noisy again didn’t get much sleep ,it did ruin our stay"

"This place is excellent value with comfortable and classy rooms. A solid 8/10. It could so easily have been a 10! Simple things, could have really benefited from 2 comfortable chairs in the spacious bedroom, so as to enjoy the lovely gin provided. Food sounded and looked first class but nearly all the dishes we had were over salted. I’d stay again and try dinner next door as the place was very comfortable and set in a lovely village. "
