Each bedroom in the main house has a smart tv and steaming services.

The 3rd bedroom/4th bathroom in the detached “Casita” building , is not heated thus it is closed from Oct to March. Please ask if you have questions.

Great location for relaxing, boating, fishing, swimming, auctions, shopping, auto museums, Amish restaurants, & microbrewery. There is also golf courses nearby, and the university of Notre Dame is only 30 min away.

The pier is in and usable (from April to Sept) for fishing, sandy soil for swimming, paddle boat and kayaks. Water toys, fishing poles, life jackets, and paddles are stored in the back of the house to the left of the deck, behind two small doors. (April to Sept only). The pier and boats are taken out during off season (Oct-March).

Stone lake has plenty of bluegill, perch, bass, and catfish. Fishing is great year around.

The cottage is fully stocked with books, cable, WIFI, board games, toys, life jackets (indoor/out), kitchen, Keurig, videos etc.

The Smart tv’s offers most of the popular streaming services that you can log into using your account #.

We have well water, but I have installed water filters on the kitchen sink, all of the shower heads, bathroom sinks and a water softer to enhance the water quality .

The property is located on a quite “dead end” street, thus safe for kids, and includes a large back yard to use.

Down town Middlebury is only 5 miles away. It offers a local Microbreweries, bike trails, mini golf, the famous Amish Dutchman Das Essenhause restaurant, nature gardens, parks, local Amish bakery/deli, and much more.

The nearby town of Shipshewana (5 miles) offers Amish stores, restaurants, auctions, crafts, flee market, Blue Gate theater, Dutch Creek animal park, mini golf, Yoder meat and cheese, and many other attractions.

Keys to the detached bedroom/bath (Casita) are located on the side of the kitchen cabinet, near the front door hall.

We have 2 queen, 2 double, and 1 twin bed. Plus one double in the detached “Casita” room.

We also provide a computer monitor and printer for your mobile office needs. You will need the cables to connect to each depending on the type of laptop you have.

From October to April the pier will be removed along with the boat and kayaks, due to the cold water and being the “off season”.

The WIFI and Amazon streaming video codes are on the fridge door.

Trash pickup is every Wednesday.

Please do a light clean up before you leave so the cottage looks good like when you arrived.

You can call, text or e-mail me anytime.

Pros: The lake is crystal clear, shallow for kids to play in and a sandy bottom. The surrounding neighborhood is well kept and quiet with good neighbors. Having the paddle boat was nice, along with the one double kayak. There is plenty of room to park in the back. The dishwasher and washer/dryer were nice to have as well. Cons: The house was not cleaned before we arrived. We opened the door and were hit with a musty smell that never left even with opening the windows and airing the place out. Same goes for the casita. There were air fresheners everywhere to cover the smell. We spent the first 3-4 hours of our stay cleaning the house which included sweeping, mopping, deep cleaning the bathrooms, kitchen and refrigerator. The toilets and sinks were all dirty and someone left their swim suit in one of the bathrooms. There were dishes/pans with food still on them in the cupboards, they looked to be put away without being washed. From the state of the house it was obvious that the owner never came in to check to see how it was left from the guests before. You bring your own bedding but the mattress pads on the beds had not been washed for months. They had multiple stains on them and we could not fathom sleeping on them. We washed all of them before we could make our beds for the night. We certainly left the house in much better condition than we found it. Outside there is no gas grill, only a charcoal grill. Luckily, we took an umbrella with us for the back deck to offer some shade during the afternoon. The waterfront is overgrown with vines and weeds. Overall, this place has so much potential if the owner would make an investment to keep the place clean and in good shape. There is only a 2 hour window between guests to clean the place, and in our experience that is not enough time.

We had a good time. Number of beds was incorrect. We were told there would be 7 when only 5. Info given to us just a couple of weeks before our stay. Did not know where the paddles were for canoe. Contacted owner and no response. Actually found by searching property.

The older folks really appreciated the 4 person pedal boat! Great set up, but no bedding or towels made it a little challenging, being we came out from California. Otherwise, lovely stay at one of our favorite areas in Indiana. Thanks!!
