A few things that are just the “nature of the beast” here: bustling location leads to noisy nights; old building has its quirks - a/c unit super loud but works well, beds are okay but could use updating, Only one outlet in my room (oceanfront corner king). Wish the two beside lamps had usb ports in them - little updates like that would help to further outweigh the old building cons. I enjoyed staying here and don’t fault them on the things that just come with the territory, but definitely could see a few easy ways to make the place noticeably better.
Plus side - the staff is fantastic. Towels, chairs, and various other beach accessories available to use. Super central location, direct beach access, lots around. Really right in the thick of Ocean Dr. if you want a quieter stay, I would suggest going a couple blocks west to Collins or Washington; or head south of 5th. If you want to be in on it all and don’t mind a bit of noise into the night, this historic stay is a solid choice.
