I’m not adverse to staying at budget motels but this was worse than any place I’ve ever stayed and I looked forward to checking out.
Upon arrival, I was unable to locate the office so I called and got a text, “Sorry I can’t talk right now.” Once I indicated I was checking in, I received a call. I was given the room number and told the keys were inside. No ID needed? Taking a rickety elevator that I’m shocked was up to code (no papers posted to indicate otherwise), we entered the room. A few minutes later a man tried entering the room asking if I worked there and he said a sign was posted that a reception was in my room. After a brief grilling about who I was, I texted to confirm my room number, she confirmed but said nothing in response to my concerns about the man.
I have no problem with dated hotels but this wasn’t the issue. The door barely opened and there was a large stain on the floor, rust?, from the door scraping as it opened. The room needed a better cleaning, we only used the refrigerator and purchased paper products. The blinds weren’t all functional- the one in the bathroom wouldn’t close nor would the large window above the sliding door. The toilet ran all night so clearly had a leak. The steps also seemed unsteady, particularly at the first landing.
A guest had a dog that barked all day.
The elevator was turned off in the evening which was an inconvenience with a big suitcase in tow but management didn’t respond to my concerns about it.
Don’t recommend!!
