"The check-in process was not explained to us. We needed a room number and a code before arriving but this was not given. There were no staff on site and we had to call someone. The picture provided of the hotel barely matches the building there today. There was no option to pay at the 'hotel' so I had to pay through a link which was simultaneously advised to do and not to do by OYO. Confusing and irritating. The room smelled like wet dog, the window was stuck open due to misaligned installation. There were stains on the bedding and I woke up with a rash on my face (I am allergic to fur so the only reasonable explanation I can muster is the wet dog smell came from fur which subsequently irritated my face) the radiator was warm at the bottom and not the top so needs apparent bleeding should the room be actually looked after."

"Tired, run down. Did make me slightly nostalgic I suppose, remembering the 1980s with the food and decor. The very few Staff that were there (if you could find them) were lovely, but I couldn’t overcome the feeling that the place had been deserted and left to rot. Breakfast near inedible but evening meal was ok. Nonetheless, not terrible value for money."

"This was our first time staying at a hotel that wasn't staffed. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The accommodations were very modern. Plenty of hot water. Easy access to both train and bus stations. Walking distance to a variety of restaurants and grocery stores. Quiet. We didn't hear street noise. Stairs are steep, as others have noted. Google Maps doesn't pin the location precisely, so look for the sign. We also recommend Köz Turkish Restaurant for a fabulous evening meal, Cafe N Joy for a simple breakfast or lunch, and hiking the Motorway up Pen Y Fan."

"The hot tub was an excellent addition to the stay. After trekking Brecon every day we got in every evening. Rooms were good size and we had enough space for all - 5 adults and 2 kids. The hot water was a bit temperamental (seems to be only working when the heating is on) and there is no dishwasher."

"The accommodation was spotlessly clean, cosy and modern. Everything we needed for a long weekend away, the welsh cakes and fresh milk we found on arrival were a fantastic welcome. The car park was a stones throw away and very reasonably priced. We will definitely book again."

"The host was very responsive and helpful and sadly that is as far as our positives go. The flat smelt of damp and stale cigarette smoke. We were unable to get any hot water in the shower. As a result of this, and many other flaws, my family and I ended up leaving a day early."
