Netflix loaded on the tv and you don’t need to use your own login. Walking distance to Merivale shops and short Ubers to Christchurch city centre. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again"

"An exposed wire on the electrical cord for the in house coffee making machine was not noticed by cleaning staff but we saw it immediately when wanting to make a coffee, but luckily, the whole coffee making machine was quickly replaced by management.
The toilet seat was misaligned to almost being broken in the Peacock suite.
The bathroom shower leaked at the door with water making both the bathrooms floor mat sodden, and also a potential slip on the wet tiles."

"I had a great stay in an upstairs studio room here (rm 15). It caught the morning and afternoon sun.
I didn't have a rental car for this trip, the location of the motel is great. I enjoyed morning walks in Hagley park, it is an easy 2km flat walk to the city centre. Was easy to get a bus to other destinations. Lots of cafe, coffee, restaurant choices all near.
The room has a little 'wear and tear' (fair for the age), but it was tidy and clean, good water pressure in shower. Appreciated having...

"Very helpful staff. We needed a fan as our room had no air conditioning. They bought us a decent sized fan which was great. The washing machine was wonderful as we were there for 5 days and washing powder was provided. We stayed in the accessible room as Im in a wheelchair. Lots of grabrails in the bathroom and room for the chair. I thought the whole room was set out well for a wheelchairGreat pub on the corner for food, Jimmy's across the road also great food, liquorland 1 minute walk...

"Booked and paid for a spa studio, no spa in the unit received and no one to talk to as reception is not open or manned. Struggled to understand check in process and then the batteries of the door opener were flat so attempts to open our unit failed .
Rang after hours bell and after 3 times with no answer the person assured me they would come and fit new batteries. We waited 4 hours and then left as he never came.
Saw other travellers arrive and struggling with the same check in process"

"I stayed on the bottom floor. My room was nice, recently updated, great bed and bathroom. But unfortunately I could hear a lot of noise from upstairs (water in the pipes, movement etc) as well as street noise which made it difficult to go to sleep. I recommend asking for a room on the top floor. Be aware there is limited on site parking. There is street parking but there are time limits during the week."

"This hotel is across the street from the huge, beautiful Hagley Park and Botanic Gardens and in a nice neighborhood with many restaurants within a couple of blocks walk. It is a top tier yet affordable hotel. The breakfast was the nicest hotel breakfast I have ever had. I have a dairy restriction and this breakfast is very accommodating.
