The little cabin on the mountainside

"The cabin is beautifully situated and looks just like the pictures. It was quiet and peaceful. We had a great stay. We brought a kayak and had a great time on the Chowan River where we saw 4 bald eagles. The cabin is very comfortable with all the kitchen items you would need. The bathroom and shower were clean. Beds were very comfortable. The screened in porch was a pleasant place to read and talk. Doug is a great host (and I'm sure Kimberly is too but we didn't get to meet her). There was some delay in getting a response when we checked in (we couldn't find the key) but Doug apologized profusely as he later told me he was away working all day and his phone died so that's why his response was delayed.There was a golf cart for our use but it was not working so Doug immediately went to work on it and generously let us use his practically new John Deere UTV to get around and tow the kayak trailer down to the river. In spite of the minor issues we would definitely stay again. With VRBO I'm used to having check in and check out instructions readily available in the app or posted in the property. I might have overlooked it but I suggest making it more obvious for the next visitors.Thank you Doug and Kimberly for a delightful visit to your beautiful cabin!"

"I needed help for my bathtub and they did what they could right away. The air conditioner was dripping water, they fixed that right away also. They are so pleasant , helpful . When I come back to Franklin I will be using this hotel . "

"Overall the property was fine and staff was friendly. The breakfast options were doable if you are the traveling with a family and need some simple choices. If you are expecting more, you may do better going out. There were some places that could have been cleaned a bit more thoroughly but not to the point of disgust. Also, coffee and tea were available 24hrs and the sit down space was comfy. This is my second time staying since 2023."
