"Really enjoyed our stay in this traditional little guest house right in the centre of the lovely border town of Vila Real de S. Antonio. Only 5 minutes on foot to the Spanish ferry, 20 mins from the train station and in a quiet street just off the bustling main square. The building is in the old town so not luxurious but it’s been beautifully maintained and has a restful ambiance - felt at home right away. The small room was impeccably clean, tastefully decorated & even had a good range of TV channels. The bathroom was very small but we managed fine (and we’re 75) though if you had disability or weight issues it could be a problem. We really loved the roof terrace, had our breakfast there, where the hosts have thoughtfully provided a mini kitchen for guests use. Ticked all my boxes and will definitely return!!"

"Really nice place to stay, better than expected. Spacious room and lovely balcony. Close to Bea h, shops, restaurants and bus stop to explore Eastern Algarve. Pool area lovely and hotel was spotlessly clean."

"Grand house was so impressive from the arrival and seeing the exterior of this remarkable building to the welcome and all interactions with the team. The daily gifts were lovely and fresh oranges supplied throughout. Breakfast was superb with views across the river. Thank you for his amazing experience "

"Second time staying here. Lovely reception area. Friendly staff. Large bedroom with lovely view over the river. Good sized bathroom with plenty of toiletries provided. However bathroom was a bit dated and worn looking in places. The grab bar in the bath was corroded and didn’t look the best. Good choice available for breakfast. Bar menu in the evening was very disappointing. I ordered a toasted sandwich with turkey - it consisted of a toasted bap with about four slices of shiny processed turkey beside it. Did not look very attractive and certainly not what was expected from a four star hotel. Overall I would definitely stay here again as the location and ambience are very good."
