"Hotel wasn’t the nicest I’ve ever stayed in, but the staff was nice, bed was clean, and AC worked well. Pet policy was nice, and price was fair for what the room was. My only negative comment is that we were supposed to have a non-smoking room and there was a distinct cigarette smell. "

"Darren, the homeowner and innkeeper, met us at the door to this lovely home/inn. He welcomed us with a smile and conversation about the history behind Sassafras Inn and Mena, We sat and visited for about an hour. Our suite was extremely large, (2 rooms), complete with coffee and refrigerator. He then provided us with his homemade, organic blueberry muffins that were to die for. "Came well equipped with what you need. No tv or internet available and there is no cell service so you are off grid for the weekend which was nice. Thomas greeted us and was very friendly. "This is the second time we have been here. The property sits off the road surrounded by woods. Very quiet, private, and clean. Fire pit outside for family gatherings as well as a nice grill/smoker in a covered sitting area While the internet is good, cell service is spotty due to location. The dwelling was single wide w rooms added. Even rock shower! Eclectic/rustic vibes. Beds are comfortable. The owners live close and are ready to assist! Can’t beat their friendliness!"
