Stayed with Quest in Auckland New Zealand before, hence we are quite confident with the quality of the hotel as well as the service. The room is well equipped with all we need for a short stay, room is clean, bed is comfy. The hotel is very thoughtfully prepared panel heater for those, including us, found the inverter aircon too dry. Staff are friendly and proactive. The only set back is the glass shield on the bathtub. Size of the shield covers only 1/3 of the bathtub, doesn’t prevent water spilling on the floor after the shower.

I would highly recommend this location if you are coming to Melbourne for more than a few days. It did have some quirks but manageable. Checkin/Parking: We got upgraded at check in to a two bedroom apartment so a great start. Parking was included, the bays were very small, fine for me but anyone with a ute is going to struggle. Room: Tidy, spacious, kitchenette had everything you’d expect for a short stay. The TV in the lounge was dated, nothing but basic channels and no wifi… the TV in the bedroom had full connectivity. Couch and lounge chair were tired but fine. Heater/cooler we struggled to get a consistent room temp but fine enough. One of the cupboard in the bedroom had been screwed shut due to a bedside table limiting access. Bathroom/Laundry: Shower pressure was great, it’s quite an open plan with two doors, no curtins… so felt a little exposed bit fine. Washing machine worked, wasn’t well fitted in the space you couldn't open the top loader the full way. The drier door also opened the opposite way it needed to, but fine enough. Location: Fantastic, quick walk to the tram to get you in the middle of the City in like 5 minutes. Southbank same, South Melbourne markets and south melbourne foodie scene a short 15min walk away and fantastic. There is an IGA, Local Grocer and Woolies Metro close. The G was a 25min walk not for the scared of inclines as you go up and down the park. Speaking of which park was right over the road great for kids and a really nice stroll.
