Took a bit of a hiatus recently to go to #japan and it was everything I dreamed and more. Thought this shot was an appropriate #takeahike entry as it was not something I expected to see in the middle of Japanese summer! Leaving in the morning from Toyama in 27+ degree (Celsius) heat to do the Tateyama Kurobe Summer Alpine Route, I thought the rest of the day would be spent in a T-shirt. What a beautiful surprise! Snow and volcanic scenery. And we even drove past some snow monkeys 💙. Falling hard and fast for Japan and its trekking routes, and finally making my Trover wishlist dreams a reality! (Tip: many more trekking routes are open in summer that wouldn't usually be accessible).

"We stayed at Prominence near the start of spring. During this time, many shops, restaurants, and cafés were either closed for the season, closed early, or had limited seating. Many bar-style eateries were also not very welcoming to families with children. "Excellent location for skiing. Property is very nice and exactly what I wanted. Modern bed rooms, bathrooms, lounge room with plenty of space. We could ski back to the house and it's a two minute walk to the slopes. Night skiing is right there. It's on a large property on the side of the mountain with a creek. The kitchen is a bit old and funky but we cooked meals each day without any problem and it is well stocked with dishes and pans. You need a hire car as it is off the beaten track. Also...
