Decent but disappointing
First of all, we needed to reschedule our stay due to a bad snowstorm and we really appreciated the owner's graciousness in allowing us to do so. He was very responsive to communications.
The home was nicely appointed; lovely bathrooms!
The title of this property "on 11 acres of woodland" led us to believe that this would be a somewhat solitary, private home, surrounded by woods (where maybe we could go for a walk). It was actually VERY close to several other homes and felt more like a farm than woodlands. It also featured a hot tub, but when we went to use it, it was cold. If you stay, maybe check on that ahead of time.
Guests need to know that the main source of heat is a wood stove, with additional space heaters; we were quite comfortable.
We would have appreciated having a microwave and coffee maker (there was a French press), and I have since communicated this to the owner.
We also had an issue with little black bugs and ants and I let the owner know that as well. (You expect some of that being out in the country, but this was a problem.)
I think that better communication of the amenities in the ad would be helpful to potential guests.
