"We enjoyed our short but very sweet night at Palazzo Privatera. We arrived on the heels of Cyclone Henry, so much of the town was shut down, but our host Alfio was extremely insightful and helpful. He showed us around this mideivel treasure, hosted a wonderful breakfast, and made our stay so comfortable! Wish we would have had more time to enjoy the amazing property and town, but hope to return in the future to enjoy more of Mt Etna’s beauty and vineyards!"

"Außergewöhnliche Villa mit tollem Grundriss. Sehr viel Privatsphäre, da mitten in der Natur. Der Pool ist groß und tief. Die Aussicht auf die Hügel und das Meer ist traumhaft. Was die Innnenausstattung angeht: es war alles da. Besonders gefallen hat uns, dass es reichlich Handtücher/Badetücher gab. Die Alcantara Schlucht ist nur 5 min. Autofahrt entfernt und unbedingt sehenswert. Das Wasser in der Schlucht ist ziemlich kühl, was im Sommer eine Wohltat ist. Ein Mietauto ist ein Muss, da das nächste Dorf - mit Restaurants, Supermärkten, Bäckereien - nicht zu Fuß erreichbar ist. War für uns auch eine ideale Ausgangslage zum Vulkan Ätna. Fazit: Eine wunderbare Lage & ein beeindruckendes Haus."

Grande piscine avec belle vue. Nature luxuriante autour de la maison. Chemin d’accès à la maison qui monte sec et détérioré."

"What a relaxing week! We had a wonderful time at this villa. The pool, garden and outside eating spaces were fantastic - with wonderful views. Cottage allowed us to experience authentic ‘cosy’ Italian living - with a welcome of water, beer and aperol spritz! Claudia and her family were so lovely and helpful. The area is stunning (gorge and mountains) and really enjoyed local restaurants such as the Alcantara Bistrot (Gaggi) and I sapori dell' Alcantara ex trattoria del corso. We did a great cooking course in Taormina and enjoyed a trip to Syracusa. All in all a fantastic trip and would definitely return. Thank you Claudia!! "

"We (10 people including family/friends & children) had a fantastic stay at this Relais de Placa! The villa was absolutely gorgeous and beautifully maintained, with all the amenities we could ask for, making it a very comfortable and enjoyable experience. The pool and grounds are beautiful, and the bedrooms are spacious, each with their own ensuite. The kitchen was a cook's dream, and we made some wonderful meals to eat out on the big table in the garden.Carmelo, the owner clearly cares a lot about his guests and the property, which is wonderful. Sometimes, he would drop by or check in — a sign of his attentiveness, though it’s worth noting if you prefer more privacy. He helped us book transport to a winery, and also U Pacciu, the best meat restaurant in the area. It's definitely worth a visit if you are carnivores like us!There were quite a few guidelines to keep in mind, but overall, an amazing stay. I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a lush,well-equipped home away from home."
