Beautiful View! Perfect Location

We love Matlacha and Island Getaway was the perfect place to stay! We walked to several restaurants - Bella's, Blue Dog, Bert's, Perfect Cup, Great Licks. Plus our teen boys could walk to the Community Park to use the basketball hoops. It was a short 15 minute ride from the community ramp to the dock. Plenty of space for us to keep our 17' flats boat the days we were there. The pool was great for cooling off each day. And the views from the decks/porches was wonderful! Super clean and tidy place. We loved it!

Matlacha Relaxation

This property is exactly as advertised, and all small details were considered, including labels for each of the light switches. Having waterfront access and kayaks available made for a great outdoors experience, even though the weather was a little cool and cloudy. We enjoyed fishing from the dock area and exploring the small shops and restaurants in the walkable vicinity. The owners were kind and quickly responded to any small questions we had. The only suggestion we have is to consider replacing the pull out sofa set, as it is getting well worn and the mattress is incredibly thin. Thank you for the pleasant stay; enjoyed the great variety of nature!

Matlacha Sunset

We really enjoyed our stay - despite Hurricane Eta making it's appearance. Everything held up fine - no damage. It is a great little cozy town, very quiet with some fantastic locally owned restaurants. The Condo was nicely furnished, clean and has a beautiful view of the water and gorgeous sunsets! Great little getaway to relax.

Everything was so thought of from kitchen to fishing, Swimming, boat Dock

The Owners were very friendly, the whole set up was beautiful, the view, pool, Private, quite, more than enough linen, towels, kitchen stocked with extra’s like seasonings. Everything was very clean, we wanted to buy it but owners like it there too!

Perfect getaway!

Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised at the unit as a whole. Not only that but the welcome gift was a very thoughtful touch. During our stay we utilized everything it had to offer. Kayaking with dolphins, fishing, swimming, laundry, full kitchen, WiFi, smart TV, enclosed patios, walking to stores and the most beautiful sunsets. Even though it is right of a main road, the traffic noise is limited and didn’t bother this country family. We enjoyed a nice breeze that flowed through the condo. With fresh fish markets just a quick walk away and Publix just a quick drive away it was convenient and close to everything that we needed.

Paradise Found

This property was outstanding. Immaculate, beautifully decorated and location can't be beat. The owners provided everything necessary for a seamless checkin and stay and provided a welcome document with all the information one could need. Such a peaceful, relaxing spot. On the water and right in the middle of quaint Matlacha. We spotted dolphins, Ospreys visited regularly, a sea otter lounged on the backyard dock, and the mullet were jumping. We were able to walk to so many great restaurants, fun bars that had music every day, and wonderful, whimsical shops and galleries. We enjoyed short drives to St. James City, Bokeelia, Sanibel and Captiva. Great vacation, and we can't wait for our next visit.

Soooo relaxing

The apartment is unbelievably peaceful in spite of being near a road that can be quite busy at times. The pool and patio area are a great place to sit and read and watch for the dolphins 🐬 Every day but one we also saw an otter on the deck. The apartment is well furnished and equipped with everything you could need. Nice bathrooms with good quality towels. Good WiFi.. Good communication with the owner. All in all a very good place to stay

Cute and clean

Property was cute and clean, just as in the pictures. The sunset views are amazing. The small fishing town is cool with many shops and restaurants within walking distance.

Excellent vacation experience

Our stay at Island Getaway was excellent! The condo was very clean, comfortable, and in the perfect location for boating, shopping, and dining. Sunset views were fantastic and fishing from the dock was enjoyable. We also enjoyed taking the kayaks out and appreciated the use of the fishing rods provided at the condo. Navigating the waters was a bit challenging as we have a V-Hull; however, we simply took our time and watched the tide levels. The pool was cool and refreshing after a hot day on the boat. Parking is tight if you have a larger boat like ours (23’ Key West) and would recommend storing the trailer at Matlacha Marina just up the road where we launched the boat. If you are one to sleep in, I recommend bringing an eye mask to block the beautiful, bright sun from waking you up. Looking forward to renting this condo again with our family!

Fisherman's paradise.

The condo was very comfortable, beautifully decorated and the amenities added so much to the experience. We had a great time exploring the artist village shops, the Calusa Indian mounds in Pineland and the waterfront establishments in Matlacha and St. James City. The home was very comfortable and so convenient to everything in Matlacha. We walked to a number of shops and restaurants. I found that our boat fit the boat dock perfectly (20 ft.) and the Matlacha community boat ramp was exceptional. The waters of Pine Island Sound are a sportsman’s paradise and the fishing was excellent. The natural environment is so close and we loved listening to the ospreys and the nesting herons with their young just leaving the nest. The pool was very relaxing, such a pleasure on a warm afternoon. The owners were responsive and caring.

Old Florida Paradise

The location, amenities and set-up of the condo were First Rate! Can’t say enough good things about our stay! Ron and Barbara had kayaks & fishing poles (rigged) as well as ceiling fans and Roku TV in all rooms - WOW! And the pictures don’t lie - it’s an ideal sunset every evening while you watch from the pool. And the wildlife: ospreys, dolphins, fish and we even spotted an otter by the dock! We will definitely be back!!

Beautiful Matlacha Condo with a View!

This was a beautiful condo right on the water in Matlacha. Shops and restaurants are within walking distance. I think that is what I liked the most, everything was within walking distance, but yet it was a very private quite setting. It was very clean and had everything you could need for a comfortable stay. The sunsets views were spectacular. Communication with owner was very good. Highly recommend! I would definitely return.

Beautiful stay

Loved the condo, the setting, and the area. Plenty things to do in the local area.Spent Christmas holiday there and was able to enjoy luminaires placed on the streets Christmas eve, I believe over 2000 luminaires. Owners were excellent on making sure we had anything we needed. They were Great!
