We stayed at Return to Paradise Resort as a family of 2 adults and 2 young children (1 and 4 years old). The room was very spacious, and the surroundings were beautiful. 🌴🌺 We attended the buffet dinner and show, which was okay, but the food was mostly Western-style. We were hoping for more traditional island dishes, especially pork. We arrived around 7pm, and some food trays were empty, with long waits for refills. This is something they could improve. The beach was quite rough for our little ones, so we had to find safer spots to enjoy the water apart from the pool. Would we visit again? Probably not, but it was still a family experience and a memory we will treasure for a lifetime. ❤️

Nice location with a beach right out front and rockpools to snorkel in which was excellent for my daughter. Venue had wifi throughout. A nice spa, pools and food.

Friendly staff and restaurants and cafe were great, food was good but quite pricey. No room service as phones didn’t work in room. Overall loved our stay and would definitely stay again.

Was an amazing stay, room was spacious kids enjoyed the pool something to keep in mind laundry facilities wasnt good for a big family as the bag was very small and $45 tala to wash per bag suits a small family we found a laundrymat up the road. Towels werent changed we hd to request which wasnt a major. Check in and out was a smooth process. Depending who is on reception vey helpful people and polite. Overall the stay was amazing children loved the pool.

Didn’t get off to a good start with staff approaching us asking if we were day guests when we arrived early and were waiting for our room to be ready. Then the door handle on one of our rooms was broken and unable to lock. They attempted to fix it and ended up upgrading our room as I was unhappy that the lock did not work. My 5 year old son absconds as he has autism so we needed to ensure his safety. Regardless, we did not expect to be hassled by staff about being day guests and we did not need to worry about having adequate safety while on holiday. After the bad start, staff were lovely and accommodating. The food was okay but I would’ve preferred to have more authentic Samoan food on the menu. We had to leave the resort to find authentic Samoan food which we didn’t want to do. The upgraded room we were provided had a toilets that gurgled and one toilet that exploded and drenched our belongings, a broken toilet seat and broken kitchen utensils. We also requested no cleaning service one day and they still came through anyways. The fiafia nights were amazing, the performers are very talented and engaging. I don’t think we would go back to RTP due to maintenance issues and feeling like we shouldn’t have been there. It is also approx 1 hours from Apia which was a bit too far for us. The general demographic seemed to be older adults >60years old and families. The resort itself is very nice with beautiful scenery

This family run resort was truly amazing. We were treated like royalty. They went out of their way to help us organise our holiday activities. We want to come back next year.

We loved our room which had cooking facilities. Marble floors and marble bathroom. Very luxurious. On closer inspection some maintenance issues emerged. Nothing happened when we asked for a seat to be fixed. It took nearly 24 hrs to get the TV working. We would have loved breakfast but unfortunately it wasn't included in our very expensive room rate. In future I will try to get a package deal. Loved the buffet evening with the brilliant string band. Amazing voices. Lovely staff.

“RETURN TO PARADISE” it is NOT! When the room rate is between AU$400/500 p/nt one would expect much better *Upon arrival we found AC unit completely rusted out & not working. Maintenance men got it going but we worried our whole stay it would catch fire in the rain. Housekeeping were to change sheets every 3 days. To have bed made & clean towels we had to chase them up daily. *Buffet breakfast-Regular shortage of plates, glasses, cutlery which we had to stand around and wait for. Always at least one major component of the limited variety of food on offer already gone. Another wait for replenishment. *Samoan people are a very happy race as we found with the admin staff. The hotel staff appeared to be sullen and unhappy in their jobs. *Internet was frequently unreliable. One day we had no access at all. *Although the beach is stunning with great tropical fish it is misrepresented in resort advertising. It is unsafe with very limited swimming opportunities. Unlike other Samoan resorts, maximising profits & minimising service seems to be the objective. This resort would be lucky to be a 2 out of 5 rating

We loved our stay at Return to Paradise Resort. They upgraded our room to an Ocean front and that was a lovely surprise. We did feel that the meals and tours were overpriced but other than that we would recommend this property to anyone. The day spa is nice and it was a very tidy well cared for resort. Highly recommend the Fiafia night. My Spa therapist kept falling asleep through the massage, but the massage she did do was good. A lot of noise with the Ocean and breaking waves so if you want quiet choose a garden room they are more peaceful.

RTP is a good resort in a good location on the south of Samoa. The 2 restaurants have good options. We stayed in a garden view room which meant our outside area was quite minimal in comparison to other room types and only provided a small 2 seater wicker chair and low table which made it challenging to play games or eat from The beach is beautiful at RTP, however if it is windy suggest checking out Matareva beach which is about 15 mins from there and quite protected

The rooms were huge and had most of what we needed to do some self catering. The gym is amazing, and good to have a pool table and table tennis for days when its a bit cold. Snorkelling not that great, but nice for swimming.

Plusses: comfy bed, large rooms, good snorkelling at low tide. Rock Pool bar for evening drinks is a cool spot. Close to the giant clam sanctuary and swimming with turtles! We biked to the clam/turtle location (4km) from RTP using the resort bikes. String band and buffet dinner night is a must do! Highly recommend. The matriarch of RTP is soooo lovely. We loved our chats with her and she made us feel like valued customers! Gorgeous lady. The daily updates sheet you get each morning is absolutely a great read with some good humour in it. We always looked forward to the daily updates. Be aware: Massage was terrible and my partner said his was very very average. Went for a hot stone massage and the stones weren’t even hot. She then proceeded to try and heat them up via boiling hot water and going in and out of the room between jugs boiling, leaving me on the bed directly under air con. Shower pressure was lacking, it would surge and a couple of times it even stopped. Breakfast wasn’t included in our accomodation when we booked via Expedia. Buffet is $45 WST or there are menu items starting at $30 WST Food prices in general were 90% of our costs while in Samoa. No other places nearby for dinner or lunches unless you hire a car and want to drive to another resort.

taff customer service is island time and island service. Be prepared to take a long while for any service to be attended to. Like wifi, cleaning your room, or having added people on your bill without consultation. Although minor, but if you are relying on wifi for correspondences, or you ran out of toilet paper, you have to wait till the rounds and the appropriate staff comes around. Also, if you are in the villas and you want to call reception, be prepared to wait till 8am because before that they are not working if you need something urgently. However, my family enjoyed the cultural shows, the beach, the bar services, the various activities which was very eventful. Never a dull moment.

Beautiful location with little beach and rock pools for exploring. Pool was dated and unappealing. Great bar on the waters edge with sunset views. Buffet dinner and show was overpriced and boring. Did offer some free activities like crab racing, movies and church excursions. Room was ok but had no ambience and was dated with some things needing replacing like our rusty clothes airer. Food and room expensive for what we got and that was without breakfast included. Did get a small welcome drink on arrival.

Be prepared for an instable wifi if you want to connect with outside families and friends or colleagues. Customer service can be challenging. Spa was the highlight and the food was the best of the three hotels we stayed prior to Return to Paradise. Breakfast was delicious and always fresh local fruits. The beach was an icon to capitalise on.

On arrival I paid for our accommodation and was charged in Samoan Tala my booking was in NZD. When I checked my bank account the next day I found I had been charged substantially more than the amount confirmed in my booking. I raised the issue with reception and was told they would investigate. After receiving no response to a follow up email to reservations I eventually contacted the General Manager who resolved the issue promptly. Before our stay I was asked if we were celebrating a special occasion. I advised that it was my birthday and requested that my group be booked into the cultural night and dinner on our first evening. I confirmed this again at check in and was assured the booking would be made. However when we arrived there was no booking for us. It also made me question why guests are asked about special occasions if there is no intention of acknowledging them. My birthday was eventually recognised but only after I raised my concerns with the General Manager about all the issues we experienced so it did not feel genuine. The accommodation is tired and not worth what we paid. Many of the staff seemed disengaged, ordering food or drinks often meant waiting an hour or more with some orders forgotten altogether. The food was often disappointing. The rooms were not serviced daily and when they were the service usually consisted of little more than replacing the towels. The highlight of our stay was the stunning beach and the wonderful group I travelled with.

Great resort option! We chose this place because it advertised nice pools and great beach front/reef to snorkel at. We got more than we bargainined for- starting with the lovely staff, very helpful and friendly- we didnt know at the tim eof booking but RTP is samoan owned and run. Great food, we enjoyed the Sunday lunch buffet with live music and other trip to the restuarant. Awesome bird life all around the resort. Super apacious rooms, we were in a garden view room- where you could see the ocean as well. We enjoyed plenty of time by the beach and in ther water. snorkelling is BEST around low tide. It was nice to have water filling stations around the resort. Highly recommend

Return to Paradise was pretty amazing! We were there to celebrate our daughter's 10th birthday, and they made everything really special. During the Saturday show, the band and the audience sang to her, and people were randomly wishing her a happy birthday for the remainder of out trip. The weather was unusually poor most of the time we were there, but the spa and other amenities more than made up for it. The show on Saturday night was fantastic; it was easily the best we have seen in our 18 months in Samoa. The room was significantly bigger than we expected, and had a cooktop and dishes, which was a pleasant surprise. All of the staff were so kind and friendly, and the beach and other surroundings were breathtaking. 10/10, we would love to be able to visit again.
