"I received an email stating that the owners mother would be meeting us there to let us in the door. He didn't say that it was a gated community and she would be standing in the middle of the roundabout. It wasn't until the night was booked that I found out I needed two hundred euros as a deposit. We were not allowed to meet at the property until we went to the nearest town and exchanged currency. I assumed that the deposit was in case there were damages, but that was not the case. The deposit was held until the next day and the apartment was inspected for cleanliness and proper procedure. There is a list of chores to clean the apartment, squeegee the shower, clean the toilet, and wipe vacuum. We were instructed to strip the beds and the foldaway couch and pile the linens with the dirty towels from the cleaning on the bedroom floor. When the apartment was "inspected" the landlord's mother dug the sheet for the couch out of the dirty laundry and put it back on the couch. In the ad it states that cleaning is done to the apartment between renters, it doesn't say that the previous renter is the person that you are relying on the clean sufficiently."

"Nous avons passé un très bon séjour en Aout dans cette belle maison bien équipée et disposant d'une très belle vue sur l'étang de Thau. Propriétaire très à l'écoute mais qui sait rester discrète. La région est propice à de nombreuses activités et de très nombreux lieux à découvrir. Nous reviendront sans problème."

"Well, what can we say - this is a truly beautiful little piece of Marseillan, the house is wonderful, the kitchen very well equipped with everything you need to produce great meals - the bedrooms are large and have fantastic views, the spacious bathroom with its large shower gives you a great start to the day - & if you want to unwind in the evening you have the double ended bath- Perfect ! And then there is the outdoor space, you while away your evenings, with a glass of the local rose wine at the outdoor table with pretty lights strung above you between the trees, whilst listening to the "orchestra" courtesy of the cute little green frogs that love to share your sunbed by the pool, and the pool is just gorgeous ! sparkling and private and with the views of the vines all around you and the pond in the distance - this is simply one of the very nicest places we have stayed in and a little piece of us remains at the Domaine de Bel Aire - the wildlife that loves to visit are the little red squirrels and a hare who we nicknamed "Henri" the hoopoe birds are also frequent visitors. we can't wait to return. Anne & her family are the perfect hosts very friendly but also unobtrusive. Marseillan harbour /port became one of our favourite places to visit with Bar Mauris becoming our go to! the local Tuesday market is great to visit and the larger one at Pezenas definitely worth visiting. Thank you Anne, we will be back. :-)"
