"Classy beautiful boutique hotel with very tasteful decor. Looks like it was recently renovated. Standard double room was decent size. Very friendly/helpful staff. Fantastic location - steps to many restaurants, especially around Piazza della Sala. Fairly easy 13 mins walk to Pistoia train station."

"The villa itself is stunning, lovely pool area and grounds and staff really great, friendly and helpful. The apartment we stayed in was okay - we knew it was in the basement of the villa, but it was very dark. We had booked it as it came with a kitchen and perhaps an oversight on our part but there was no oven, the fridge was tiny and a real lack of cooking utensils, it was very basic and meant we did not really cook while staying despite having wanted to. "We loved everything about Relais San Lorenzo. Daniela is a wonderful host and nothing was too much trouble. The building is beautiful and dates from the 17th century, but everything is in top condition and works really well. The location is absolutely perfect. Very highly recommended. This was our first time in Lucca and we loved the city. We hope to return and will definitely stay in Relais San Lorenzo again!"
