"Hotel was right across the train station so it was not a long walk at all. Very convenient. The lake was behind the hotel so easy access. There is also a very nice and big restaurant right beside the hotel which was a bonus. The ferry station was about 10 minutes walk so not bad. Over all the hotel was great. Only things to be aware is that the center of Varenna is a significant distance down the mountain. You can walk there but it is a pretty good distance.
