The mostly uncrowded beach was amazing during our long weekend away from the chaotic Sao Paulo!

We accidentally rented a compact car with manual transmission (most have this) and no A/C! Silly gringo. Also the traffic leaving the city was a disaster but after that it wan an enjoyable road trip. Until we had to come back in to the city, that is. There is a reason the rich use helicopters!

"It was disappointing when arriving in the hotel as I thought it was in front of the beach (in the map it looked it was in front of the beach). The rooms were not as comfortable as described, the Internet connection was available in the reception only, breakfast was very limited. Hot water in the bathroom took a long time to come, no phone was available in the room and TV channels are very limited. Also basement parking was very small. Definitely not the best option in Maresias and not...
