"I arrived after nine on Friday night to a lovely, cheerful young lady who checked me in efficently. A lovely fire was burning in the lobby creating a warm, autumnal vibe. Later, I came out to see if I could get hot water anywhere for the chamomile tea bag I brought with and the hotel keeps hot water thermos at the ready along with coffee which was perfect. They also had cold water with lemons in the lobby. I saw a nice fitness room adjacent to the lobby and wished I had thought to bring work out clothes. I loved that the sheets smelled freshly laundered! The smell was very relaxing. The room was just a bit dark at night as I was unable to figure out how to turn on the floor lamp by the comfy arm chair. Breakfast in the morning lasted until 9:30 am. There were enough tables and seats for those of us who came in late. I enjoyed a fresh waffle and syrup with a view of the fireplace. There were also warm eggs, lots of bacon even at 9:15 am, and biscuits and gravy, plus bagels, hard boiled eggs and an assortment of extras. There were several people manning the breakfast and keeping it well supplied. I checked out at 11 and visited downtown Dahlonega which was beautiful and delightful on a fall Saturday. Buskers were playing, we had lunch at the Picnic Cafe and Desserty with delicous brunswick stew and white chicken chilli. The whole day was idyllic and free parking for 3 hours. Can't wait to return to the best little fall day!"
