THE RESORT

Relax and unwind in carefree luxury combined with the authentic Keys lifestyle! Marlin Bay Resort & Marina is a newly launched property in Marathon near the world-famous Keys Fisheries. We offer boutique resort-style amenities and services in an intimate setting. From romantic couple’s getaways to family fun vacations to friends’ group adventures, Marlin Bay is the perfect homeport for your stay in the Florida Keys.


THE CLUBHOUSE

As you enter the gates of the resort, you are met by our impressive and modern two story Clubhouse. Inside you will be greeted and checked-in by our Concierge Team who can assist you with activity planning, boat rentals, snorkel tours, restaurant recommendations, etc. Our Clubhouse also features a state-of-the-art fitness center with a sauna and steam room, numerous lounges with big screen TVs, and a game room with shuffleboard, billiards, poker table and board games. Please note the hours of operation will vary throughout the week and year.


THE POOL DECK

Just outside the Clubhouse you can soak up the Florida sunshine on our expansive pool deck while enjoying the various amenities such as a pool bar, large heated beach entry pool, hot tub, ping pong table, corn hole, lounge furniture, pool towels and umbrellas.


THE MARINA

Beyond the pool deck, on the Florida Bay, lies our 74-slip marina featuring fully powered concrete docks with water hookups. The marina is overseen by our dedicated Dockmaster and Dockhands who are here to assist with all your boating needs. The slips are currently available for daily, weekly or monthly rentals. Please note that we cannot accommodate jet skis at the resort, but can certainly provide recommendations for nearby options.


RESIDENCE #3819

This home is located directly on our marina, providing some of the best views on property. It is over 3,600 square feet, plus five outdoor terraces with a private plunge pool and dining area on the ground level terrace.

There are three stories along with an elevator, allowing you to easily access each level. There is also an attached private garage, which can fit up to 2 moderately sized vehicles.

The second level is the main gathering area of the home and contains a living room with a queen-sized sleeper sofa, a formal dining room, a fully outfitted gourmet kitchen which seamlessly flows into the a family room, as well as a laundry room and half bathroom. One of the four bedrooms is also located on this level and features a king bed and an en suite full bathroom.

The third level contains the remaining three bedrooms, each with their own en suite full bathroom. Two of the bedrooms have a king bed and the third bedroom has two twin beds. There is also a conveniently located breakfast/wet bar in the sitting area outside of the three bedrooms.

This home can accommodate up 10 people and is a great place for family and friends to gather in The Keys!

Fun in the sun

Amazing house in a small resort setting. The pictures don’t do justice to the home. Spacious, well appointed, great beds and linens. All of the staff couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating. We had a small private plunge pool but the resort pool was so nice that we hung out in it. Great for little one’s with a beach like entry. Really enjoyed our time.

This house has beautiful marble floors and spacious rooms with well portioned bathrooms! The small pool downstairs allowed our scuba divers to practice with their equipment. The staff was quite helpful and our weather was perfect!

Great property with everything you need

We were a group of 2 families, 4 adults, 3 teenagers. Property is absolutely one of our favorites we have rented on VRBO (although if went again would go directly to property manager). Decor is very nice. Very clean. Kitchen well stocked - good pots and pans, sharp knives, tupperware for outings, cutting boards, etc. Nothing we needed that was not there. One bedroom is off of the kitchen so a bit hard for our teenager in the morning. 3 other bedrooms on top floor. Pool on property was great. Loved having bar open 1-7. Employees all super friendly and constantly wiping things down. Prompt responses when called with questions or texts, before and during stay. Only minor thing I would change is unit only has 1 TV in the family room which is adjacent to the kitchen. The couch fits 3 people and there are 6 bar stools. There may have been a TV in master but cannot recall. In late evening when we wanted to watch NCAA tournament games, would have been nice to have a TV in the living room with the big sectional. I love that there were not TVs in kids rooms (not that they watch TV with phones:) Or a TV downstairs on covered patio which we used for dinners 3 nights. Plunge pool was heated which was unexpected and enjoyed by all. 2 car garage has a middle post so tricky to back into. Had a Pacifica minivan and had to fold in side mirrors before could get all the way in. Any kind of big SUV would not fit. There is adjacent parking 20 ft away from front door. Very short walk to Florida Steak & Lobster, Keys Fisheries restaurants. Couple blocks to Keys News and Coffee. Publix 1 mile away. Overall, enjoyed Marathon. Lots to do. One last thing, the marina at sunset was great. There's a resident group of 4 French Angel fish at the end of the dock with the tower. Also group of 10-15 parrot fish that patroled the wall, and a nurse shark. Fun for kids to get some fish feed also on site and feed the fish at sunset every night.

We had an issue with the washing machine but they got it replaced on the 4th day of our stay. There were 9 of us in the home and there was plenty of room & lots of space to spread out. There are 2 living rooms, the largest does not have a tv...we didn’t do a ton of tv watching but would suggest one if the larger room for hanging out with the whole group. Also, there is a strange banging noise either the plumbing about every 30 minutes or more frequently if people are showering/flushing toilet, that you can hear in the bedroom's (master & guest) on one side of the house.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The resort is very nice, our home was also very nice. Spending the extra month for the waterfront property is worth it. One negative is if you like to cook, the pots, pans, and knives need to be updated. You couldn't even sharpen the knives they are so bad. We didn't have sufficient cookware which was disappointing. One final disappointment is the water main broke in Marathon, affecting the water at the resort. We didn't have water for a full day, couldn't shower, couldn't flush toilets, couldn't wash hands - and because we weren't able to shower that kind of ruined our plans for the day so we had to stick around the resort. I expressed my concern to management, asked for some sort of compensation and they were unwilling to offer any sort of compensation, which is unfortunate given the amount of money we paid to stay there. We were the guests, we were unhappy, sorry it's not our fault doesn't cut it. Get some new pots, pans and knives, and the next time the water main breaks, you're in the business of hospitality - I would recommend at a minimum providing drinking water and at least ensuring your guests are happy and satisfied.

The towels, linens, appliances and furniture are all high-end. The only thing we would like to see is a tv in the larger livingroom. It was difficult to watch tv in the room that has a small sofa that only seats 2-3 people. Everything else about the unit is fantastic!

Generally ok - Kitchen and Dockmaster issues

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: For the money and the space the kitchen is barely equipped to handle more than two people having dinner. For guests who actually cook, there are two ovens which is great but only two sheet pans so there is almost no point in having two ovens because you really don’t have the cookware to use them. There are three sautée pans that are medium, small, and extra small, so again, don’t try to cook for a group unless you want to use all three multiple times to get to the volume of seats provided at the dining table. There is a trash compactor which seems to be an upgrade but it’s janky at best, difficult to open and close and really provides zero benefit and just extreme annoyance for anyone especially anyone trying to cook - it should be replaced with a regular trash bin. Overall the bedrooms were great, ample fridge and freezer capabilities, and the office staff excluding the Dockmaster are super service oriented. The dock master, not at all skilled in communication or service industry. He treats you as if you’re a jerk until proven otherwise, makes a big deal in accommodating your regular or typical ask - and rides the dock staff in a way that trickles to the guests. I’ve never been harassed to go to the front desk after getting docked in my entire life of marina cruising (literally had a dock hand wait at my boat while I finished getting settled in order to be escorted to the office to check in, which was completely unnecessary for a lot of reasons and actually very offensive). Last year the dock hands, nearly like clockwork, helped us re-dock (coming back in) nearly everyday we went out - this year the dock hands helped us the first time but never again - I don’t think this is because of the dock hands but because of the dock masters style of management or lack of focus on client service. I didn’t see any of the same dock hands from last year, which is unfortunate because those guys were courteous, knowledgeable and ver
