"5 Stars – An Unforgettable Stay at Sunbird Oasis Lodge
We had the most incredible experience at Sunbird Oasis Lodge! From the moment we arrived, Tommy and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Their warmth, friendliness, and professionalism were truly exceptional.
The facilities were absolutely amazing – beautifully maintained, with thoughtful touches that made our stay both relaxing and memorable. Our accommodation was wonderful: clean, spacious, and comfortable, with...
"The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Nixon the lodge manager assisted us in taking our luggage to the room. All of the lodges are connected by a wooden walkway in the bush. The rooms were very nice and recently renovated. There is a great viewing deck where you can view the wild life. We saw 6 giraffes and several impalas the morning we were checking out which was exciting!! I would definitely recommend the Panzi Lodge to others! "
"A 30 minute drive from the Opren gate of Kruger Park and a good price/value considering other nearby accommodations are much higher priced. Seemed to be newer with a good air conditioner and was clean. This is not a true boutique hotel but more like a rental of a large 1 bedroom 2 story townhouse in a gated townhouse community on a hilltop. Our unit had a large proper kitchen and living room and a garage. That said, it might be good for larger families needing space or those staying for an...
"We had an amazing time at Hamilton’s! Since it sits next to a seasonal river, we saw so many animals right at the property when they came out to drink. Being in a private concession also meant no crowds during our game drives. The food and service was impeccable! Every meal was meticulously prepared. We loved it so much we ended up staying an extra night! The staff was so helpful with arrangements to reschedule our flight and transportation. The service was excellent, it’s no wonder Hamilton’s...
"I had an amazing stay at Leopard Hills. The entire grounds are 5-star, all of the staff if there to cater to your every need and the location within Sabi Sand is fantastic for game drives! My stay here was worth every penny!"
"We had a good experience during our stay. We were here for a couple of days and had gone for 4 game drives (one @ Kruger NP). We specially liked the way we were welcomed in the lodge.
Lil disappointed with the food as we had very less options for Asian Vegetarians.
Were able to see big5 except Leopard and various other animal & bird species.
Had a great time @ bonfire during first night with their traditional song & dance.
Overall a superb experience!!"
"Simbambili game lodge exceeded all our expectations. Nomsa who always made sure our needs were met with a smile and all the staff (Stan our wonderful Butler, Moomsa, Mathew the chef ect..) always made us feel like family.
Our exciting and informative game drives were led by Kel the Ranger and Life the Tracker. They are best professional/ knowledgeable team you could have.
Thx Simbambili team for such a memorable trip…If coming back to Sabi Sands…it’s gotta be Simbambili!!

"My husband and I stayed at the Kubu Lodge for 11 nights. The staff and owners, Nicole and Manfred, were pleasant, friendly and helpful. The rooms were beautiful and kept clean. Breakfast was a delight every morning with fresh fruit, fresh bread and eggs made to order. The ladies knew my husband liked mushrooms and they made sure he had them on his plate every morning. We ate several dinners there and particularly enjoyed the meals prepared in the boma. We saw many animals as we drove into...
"Great stay at the baobab ridge , the staff was super friendly, the general manager as well, everything was superbe ! If you can afford it go for it without hesitation"
"This place is magical. The tents (luxury tents) are like nothing I had ever experienced before. The private plunge pool , though too cold to swim at, was an amazing watering hole and we had Impalas and Kudus there every single day. Game drives where incredible, Big 5 in a day. The staff went out of their way to make us feel special. "

"The minute we arrived we were greeted by lovely staff and elephants at the pool. What followed was a once in a lifetime experience.
The positives - Beds are super comfy with electric blankets for those cold nights and a fan for the warm days. The food was AMAZING. I LOVED being seated with fellow safari mates and getting to know people from across the world even though we are total introverts. Our guide Leighton was brilliant, knowledgeable and an excellent driver. And the wildlife…. Wow. I still can’t believe we saw so many lions, leopards and cheetahs, not to mention everything else. Being birders we were worried that we would be ignored and never get a moment to identify a bird but Leighton balanced the needs of the guests so well and had an excellent knowledge of all animals.
The only downsides… when we arrived we were so hungry but because our flight was delayed we missed the afternoon safari and had to wait until everyone returned before we could access any food - a wait of 2 hours was really tough and no one explained what was happening. Highly recommend explaining the daily itinerary to people on arrival and having snacks available for purchase.
Loved the Couples shower but unfortunately not enough hot water for 2 people.

Whether you’re looking for tranquility or a base for adventure, Sunbird Oasis Lodge delivers on every level. A heartfelt thank you to Tommy and the entire team – your hospitality made all the difference. We can’t wait to return!"
"Staying at simbambili was the best experience of our life. The lodge was stunning, the food was exceptional, the attention to detail was like no other, but above all the team that worked there made you feel like family.
I looked at dozens of lodges before choosing for our honeymoon, so when I finally landed on Simbambili, it was due to the amazing reviews and location. When we arrived it was even better than what we could have imagined. Magical is really the word that comes to mind.
Our days started with our Ranger Solomon and Tracker Roy, took us out on our drives. They were so passionate and knowledgeable. Then came back to a very cheerful Caroline who welcomed us, and then every meal Rich was there to take care of us.
There was a watering hole at the lodge and constantly we were able to see so many animals coming up for a drink. Look no further for your dream safari, it’s at simbambili!"
"This was our 5th visit to Elephant Plains. It's the most affordable option in the Sabi Sands and an excellent place to stay. Since our 2022 visit, they have updated the rondovels. They're super comfortable with everything you need. Staff were great. They seem to have simplified the food options (an improvement) and the quality is great.
You go to the Sabi Sands for the exceptional leopard sightings and amazing safaris. This place does not dissapoint - in one drive we had 2 leopard cub sightings, a female on a kill, close elephant encounters and lions. It's worth every cent!
For self-drivers (at May 2025), the roads to Gowrie Gate are horrendous and haven't improved much in 10 years. Map out your journey before hand. We used both Google Maps and the maps provided by EP. Gowrie Gate entry was R510 (cash or card) and the conservation fee added to your bill at EP was R620 so factor that in too.
Elephant Plains is a must do!"
"This is an exceptional property in the Manyeleti Game Reserve adjacent to the Kruger National Park. It is a magical place where Impala's roam the property and the elephants come to drink water from the pool. The "tents" are very nice with toilet facilities and showers and comfortable beds. The food was good, but the staff are the best! They do everything they can to meet your needs and wants. Everyday there are two game drives into the reserve where you can get very close to amazing game animals. The guides on these drives are very good at their jobs. Ours was named Brilliant and he truly was brilliant. He can find animals, birds and snakes at distance and at night in places I can barely see. He is amazing! We want to thank the staff for making our stay very special-Dan, Mavis, Trevor, Previous, Noa and other...and especially Brilliant!"
"This place is a must go. From the moment you checkin and are greeted by Francisco to the time you leave, you feel like the most important person in the world.
The guides we had (Simon, Rudolph) were incredible and got us up close and personal with the animals.
We will be taking our family back! "
"Kruger Untamed was a unique experience and one I can highly recommend.
The camp is remote and generates its own electricity and has no plumbing. Water is provided manually, and each tent is fitted with a chemical toilet and shower, which is filled up with hot water twice a day. Old world comforts like warm water bags and hot water flasks ensures that one stays warm.
The staff works incredibly hard to make sure the tents are serviced and maintained, and the overall effect is one of luxury whilst feeling very close to nature, offering a level of authenticity that is hard to match elsewhere in the Kruger.
Our toilet wasn’t serviced for a day, and the generator experienced issues which left us without electricity for a short while. The team did their best to resolve the challenges, and Seth, the front of house manager, is very professional and dealt with all issues promptly.
The camp uses the public Kruger roads for game drives, but most roads are quiet as it is located far away from the larger camps. This ensures that sightings are uncongested. All rangers leading walks and drives were extremely professional.
One suggestion is for their rangers to use radios to communicate sightings to other groups, to ensure sightings are shared and not missed.
The food was very good. If they cook more food on an open fire (‘braai’) if possible, it will add to the experience.
Overall we had a great time and will definitely try to visit again."
