"We lived in the Readfield for 13 years and return in the summers for a week to spend time with family and friends. We have stayed in 4 different cabins over that time. This one was ranked the highest by us, our family, and friends. The location of, and amenities on, the deck were a consistent plus. I personally enjoyed the firepit. The supply of firewood and splitting tools were so convenient. Cooking over the fire on the circular grilling cover was fun: steak, smores, and even pizza. It was the first time I cooked a pizza over a fire and everyone loved it. The dock and moored float pad were in excellent shape and well used. I personally enjoyed the paddle boat. There are plenty of kayaking and canoeing supplies. Lots of floaties for all ages. The extra cabin was a nice bonus. The hanging chair was loved by one of the family members. The air conditioner in the main cabin is very capable of chilling the place down. There are lots of throw blankets and comfy spots to use them. The collection of fishing poles was nice. A trip to Ace hardware for hooks and bait was all that was needed. Easy to catch small fish off of the dock. The decor and style of the cabin was nostalgic and fun. I enjoyed looking around and finding unique and creative elements. There are definitely amenities for all ages. Our kids are grown, but I appreciate the presence of coloring pencils, building blocks, games, child floaties, and kid's movies. The host was very hospitable! Thank you!!"

"A majority of the rooms have outside entrances. I didn’t realize this and when I checked in, I asked. My original room had an outside entrance and I asked if there were any available with inside entrances. There was and she upgraded my room for free. It was very much appreciated!"

"This was an excellent stay. It was the right amount of modern. The room was very clean, very spacious. The bathroom was honestly immaculate. The shower? UGH, I am making it my focus to own the same type of shower head because that was magic on my sore back. And, it was so roomy, two people could fit easily and still stay warm and comfortable. Free coffee with all the fixings and breakfast, a big bonus. Restaurants are close by, grocery stores and minute-marts as well. Also a big bonus. The only VERY minor constructive criticism we had was the pool. The water was much chillier than expected. The pool room was very well heated. And conveniently, there was a rinse shower station and towels everywhere to keep us warm and dry afterwards. But yeah… that water was definitely cold. We still enjoyed ourselves after we acclimated to the temperature, but still, it’s the principle. Overall, 9.8/10. My husband and I did officially decide to stay at Hampton Inns from now on. They’re just right when it comes to hotels. "

"I can’t say enough about how wonderful the house is. We have stayed in many properties and this was the best equipped of any. The host responds immediately to answer any questions. We did not eat out at all as the outdoor grill and kitchen were easy to use and make great meals. It’s really nice to have a fully fenced yard when traveling with young children. I spent a lot of time on the porch reading or playing cards or board games with two of my grandchildren (ages 9 and 4). The hot tub is great! For going in the water there are plenty of life jackets and a very nice float. Wonderful to walk out the door to the dock to go swimming or get on a boat( we rented a pontoon for a day). Highly recommend!!!!"
