"We were greeted warmly upon our arrival by staff. The room was kindly upgraded and was beautiful. We were offered a welcome drink and some Madeira wine in our room. We opted for an additional breakfast, there was confusion as I was under the impression this was included in the original booking. The turn down service was excellent. The spa was lovely although no locker was offered to us. The outside pool is a wonderful attraction. The main issue we had was an event celebrating fireworks - viewing party. It was advertised as starting a certain time but finished thirty mins afterwards. We fed back about this and asked to speak to managers but we had to chase this. When we did speak to a manager, they were very kind and took money off our bill. I would be happy to return"

"Great place, ongoing sympathetic modernisation happening but you never hear anything. Breakfast fantastic, pool area and top floor very cool. Rooms tidy and spacious. Fantastic staff and a wonderful stay!"

"Amazing staff with a great location only a few blocks away from the main city center. The pool on the roof has an amazing view for days where you’d like to take a break and relax. The breakfast is solid. Make sure to reserve parking as there are limited spots!!!"

"We loved our stay at the hotel, all of the staff was extremely friendly, it was always easy to grab food or drinks. The beach is right outside which was nice. Parking can be a bit tough as the hotel doesnt have a parking garage but they do validate the garage outside. We loved that it’s all inclusive but the food is mediocre on its best day. There are a lot of great restaurants within a few minutes walking. It feels centrally located with all major attractions within an hour each way. We loved Madeira!"

"It’s a lovely resort with excellent facilities, but there were aspects of our stay that didn’t live up to expectations. We were staying in a Preferred Club townhouse. A really nice property, but barely any wi-fi which caused some problems. Ok, we’re on holiday but you should expect decent wi-fi. There were also some service issues. The staff were all working hard and they were always friendly, but they were understaffed in parts of the resort which meant slow service. Contrast that with the à la carte restaurants where we were rushed through in no time. You barely had any time to finish a course before the next one arrived! My wife had someone clicking their fingers at them to encourage her to speed up! That’s unacceptable. It’s a shame as the resort has all the ingredients to be a truly 5 star resort. The location is great, the facilities impressive and the food and drink overall was very good. Hopefully Hyatt will invest and deal with some of these issues. It’s the details that matter."

"Amazing hotel and staff! Very clean and lovely rooftop bar and pool - front desk gave many great recommendations, from hikes to restaurants. Would absolutely stay again! Recommended a parking lot 5 minute walk away that’s only €4.50 per day, so was easy to have a rental car."
